LíAnse Creuse North 16, Port Huron Northern 4

LíAnse Creuse North didnít waste any time.

The Crusaders plated 11 runs in the top of the first inning on the way to a 16-4 mercy-shortened victory in five innings over Port Huron Northern in the District 23 semifinal Friday.

Joanna Taylor earned the victory from the circle for LCN, allowing four runs on six hits over the five innings of work. She surrendered four walks and did not strike out a batter.

Taylor Elsholz suffered the loss for Port Huron Northern (8-14; 3-7 MAC Blue).

Claire Kerpet had three hits and two RBIs out of the leadoff spot for LCN, while Allison Peck finished with three hits and two runs scored. Leah Bieniewizc was 3 for 4 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored.

Piper Roth scratched across two hits in the win.

Cassidy Koschnitzke was 2 for 3 with a double and two RBIs in the loss for Northern.

Anchor Bay 11, Port Huron 0

Already up four runs heading into the fifth inning, Anchor Bay ended its semifinal win over Port Huron in style.

The Tars capped the game with a seven-run inning, highlighted with an Aleah Marra game-ending home run to secure an 11-0 shutout of the Big Reds. Anchor Bay batted around in the fifth.

Marra finished 2 for 3 in the win, while Avieri Ludwig was a perfect 3 for 3.

Skye Norris earned the win from the circle, allowing just two fifth-inning singles over five innings of work. She struck out five and walked none.

Nicole Mallory suffered the loss for PH (11-12; 7-3 MAC Gold).
