Behind a brilliant performance from pitcher Joe Leeming, Anderson knocked off first-place Roosevelt 4-0 Monday afternoon in Wyandotte.

Leeming was perfect through 5.1 innings for the Titans (8-9, 6-4 Downriver League) before he allowed a one-out walk to Andrew Hogge of the Bears (9-8, 7-2 DRL). With two outs in the same inning, Tyler Thorington broke up the no-hit bid with a single

Roosevelt managed to draw another walk in the sixth and got two more hits in the seventh, but couldn’t get a run across and fell 4-0 in the DRL matchup.

The Titans put one run on the board in the third inning after Blake Sloan singled, stole second, advanced on a sacrifice and then swiped home.

Two innings later, the visitors added three more runs, as Sloan reached with another base hit and scored on a Danny McCoy single, Dylan Downs knocked in McCoy with a single and Tyler Hall later scored on a squeeze play by David Bellon.

Sloan, Downs, Hall and Kyle Riddle all finished with two hits a piece on Monday in what was an 11-hit attack and an RBI each went to Downs, Bellon and McCoy.

On the mound, Leeming finished with a total of six strikeouts for the afternoon and allowed only the three late hits and two free passes.

For the Bears, Jacob Moore got the start and went the distance, striking out four batters and yielding only one walk, while allowing 11 hits and three earned runs.

At the plate, Moore and Marcia Gomez accounted for Roosevelt’s other two hits in the contest.

Next up for the Titans is a home game tomorrow against Carlson, while Roosevelt will be in action again Wednesday at home against Kennedy.
