Scoring was abundant in the Anderson girls’ soccer team’s 12-0 mercy-rule win over Kennedy Friday night.

The game only lasted 40 minutes, but eight Titans were able to leave their mark on the score sheet.

Laekyn Jaciuk led the way with four goals, giving her 22 on the season.

Jen Ibarra booted in two of her own and Andrea Thornsberry and Hallie Tingstand each scored as well.

The highlight for the team were the four players with their first career goals.

Tabitha Perry, Cassidy Tear, Gabby Claus and Sydney Daversa each scored their first goals of their career in the win. Daversa is a freshman, while the other three are sophomores.

Thornsberry totaled four assists while single assists went to Ibarra, Claus, Sam Horiatis, Cynthia Konan and Darrell. Victoria Barrientos also recorded her first-ever assist.

Coach Larry Lankford was thrilled with not only his team’s win, but the efforts on the field.

“(I’m) very happy with the entire team, not just for winning, but the girls passed the ball extremely well,” he said. “In fairness to Kennedy, they were shorthanded tonight and it was tough with no subs.”
