All Baseball StoriesThe Lincoln Park baseball team will take on a nearby squad this weekend, but the contest will be played in another state. On Saturday, the Railsplitters will head south down I-75 to take on the Dearborn High Pioneers at Fifth Third Field in downtown Toledo. The stadium is the home of the Toledo Mud Hens, who are the AAA Minor League Baseball affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. “It's going to be a great experience for our kids and we're really looking forward to it,” said Lincoln Park Coach Brian Amorose. Fifth Third Field opened with the start of the 2002 Mudhens’ season and holds nearly 9,000 fans. In order to schedule the game, the teams participated in a program in which they sold ticket vouchers for Mud Hens’ home games, which also doubled as a fundraiser for the Rails. Saturday night’s game between Lincoln Park and Dearborn starts at 7 p.m. and admission is free.
