Carlson came away with a 2-0 record at the league’s other quad meet Wednesday, while Melvindale and Roosevelt were both 1-1 at the event and host Lincoln Park finished at 0-2.

Carlson knocked off Roosevelt 41-29 and took down Melvindale 38-31 to earn its two victories of the evening.

Roosevelt beat Lincoln Park 47-22 and Melvindale handed the Railsplitters a 48-24 defeat.

For the Marauders, Jerry Lakos (103), Mason Brott (125), Andy Mydloski (171), Doug Bunea (189) and Zack Underwood (215) were all 2-0 for the evening. Heading into last week, Underwood was ranked No. 8 in the state in Division 2.

“I was really proud of our young men today,” said Carlson Coach Lance Hassell. “We came together as a team and got two huge Downriver League wins. Both wins meant a lot to our team, as we haven't beaten Wyandotte in nine years and we avenged a loss from earlier this season against Melvindale.”

Roosevelt also had five wrestlers earn a 2-0 record at event, as the Bears’ Lucis King (112), Colin Vargo (135), Angelo Bartolo (140), Jacob Lesko (145) and Quentin Santiago (152) were all undefeated. Santiago was ranked No. 3 in the state in Division 1 as of last week and was ranked No. 10 overall.

Going 1-1 for Roosevelt were Jeremiah Jaucik (103), Aaron Young (119), Colton Thompson (125), Eric Youngs (160), Joe Lowe (189/215) and David Marshall (285).

Melvindale got two-win performances from Ameer Munassar (130), Ryan Large-Agee (145) and Dylon Maki (160), while teammates and Julian Saldana (119) and Ben Durisin (125) were both 1-0. Munassar went into action last week ranked No. 7 in the state in Division 2.

Host Lincoln Park had only one double winner for the night, as Sonny Botello (171) came away with a 2-0 record.
