Trenton and Woodhaven both came away with 2-0 team records at a Downriver League Quad held last Wednesday at Trenton.

The host Trojans fell behind 10-0 to Melvindale, but came back and won 46-21 thanks to pins from Joshua Frye (171), Josh Berry (215) and Jackson Rickman (119).

Trenton then beat Roosevelt by a score of 54-18, as the hosts scored six pins to Roosevelt’s three. Frye pinned his man in just 1:12 for his second pin of the night.

Going 2-0 for Trenton were Rickman, Ian Collier (125), Brad Boler (140), Vince Bartaway (160) Frye, Berry and Ean Purcell (285).

Roosevelt also fell to Woodhaven, falling 51-28 to the Warriors. Josh Hancock (145), Hunter Grasso (119) and Justin Patton (171) got three of Woodhaven’s six pin falls, while Roosevelt managed only one.

Woodhaven took on Melvindale next and won 42-29, again scoring six pins and the Cardinals managed only one, which came courtesy of Josh Hoak (130).

For Melvindale, Sammy Almoharmy (112), Ameer Munassar (130), Ryan Large-Agee (145) and Manuel Roldan all finished with 2-0 records while teammate William Wessels (HWT) came away 1-0.

Allen Park Quad

Anderson finished 2-0 at last week’s other DRL Quad, while Carlson and Lincoln Park finished 1-1 and host Allen Park was 0-2.

The Titans knocked off the Marauders 39-31 and beat the Railsplitters 49-28.

In the loss to Anderson, Carlson’s Jerry Lakos (103) got a big takedown with less than two seconds left on the clock and secured a major decision, while Mason Brott (125), Travis DeRossett (119) and Max Underwood (152) all scored falls for the Marauders.

Carlson’s victory for the day was a 55-18 decision against Allen Park, while Lincoln Park picked up a 54-16 win against the Jaguars.

The Marauders Zack Underwood got his 100th career win in the team victory over Allen Park and the team also got big pins and bonus-point victories by Lakos, Brott, Brent Neasz (119), Max Underwood (152) and Doug Bunea (171).

For Lincoln Park, Trevor Anderson (130), Zander Moore (160), Sonny Botello (171) and Blake Johnson (HWT) were all double winners, while one win each came from: Jividen (103) Tyler Castillo (112), Travis Anderson (119), Nate Bailey (135), Devon Carson (145), Quinn Chapman (152), Julian Pena (189) and Kalani Kapiko (215).

Allen Park’s Ben Lewis (130) and Dan Schmidt (140) went 2-0 at the quad, while teammates Dylan Miner (112), Shane Atkinson (125) and Jake Chapman (160) each finished with one win.
