With two individual champions and four runners up, Anderson took third overall at last Saturday’s Plymouth Salem Invitational.

The Titans finished behind first-place Greenville and second-place Westland John Glenn.

Bringing home the pair of individual championships from the event were Anderson’s Logan Parks (140) and his teammate Cody Tis (215).

Donte Rivera-Garcia (112), Jacob Balogh (145), Cody Stanley (152) and Chris Pauley (189) all finished in second place for the Titans in their respective weight classes.

One other Anderson wrestler who placed in the tournament was Dylan Hoagland (103), who finished the day in fifth in his weight class.

Lincoln Park also represented the DRL last Saturday at the Plymouth Salem Invitational and came in 11th place as a team.

The best finishes for the Railsplitters came from Zander Moore (160) and Sonny Botello (171), who both took third place in each of their respective weight classes.

Jesse Jividen (103), Tyler Castillo (112) Quinn Chapman (145) and Jordan Hottum (HWT) all came away from the event with fourth-place finishes for Lincoln Park.

The Rails were in action again yesterday at the Novi Catholic Central Invitational and on Wednesday are scheduled to wrestle in a quad meet with Trenton, Huron and Macomb Dakota.

Bedford Team Duals

Two days after competing at the Plymouth Salem Invitational, Anderson headed south for the Bedford Team Duals.

The event was a makeup, as it was originally scheduled for earlier in the month, but had been canceled due to bad weather.

As a team, the Titans finished with a 1-3 record for the day. They were able to beat Ida, but lost to Monroe Jefferson, Hudson and Bedford.

Two wrestlers were undefeated for Anderson, as both Logan Parks (140) and Cody Tis (215) came away with perfect records.

Also, four of the Titans finished up with only one loss, as Donte Rivera-Garcia (112), Jacob Balogh (145), Cody Stanley (152) and Chris Pauley (189) all put up 3-1 records.

Anderson will see action again Wednesday, as the squad is scheduled to wrestle at a quad meet against host Livonia Franklin, as well as Canton and Dearborn Heights Crestwood.

Milford YETI Challenge

Trenton went 4-1 at last Monday’s Milford YETI Challenge and took fifth place overall.

In what was a 16-team event, featuring four pools of competing teams, the Trojans finished second in their pool behind Plymouth.

The winners of each pool then competed for first to fourth place overall and those in second battled to claim fifth to eighth place.

Finishing ahead of Trenton was first-place Swan Valley, along with second-place Plymouth, third-place Lake Fenton and fourth-place Davison.

As a team, the locals beat Jackson Northwest 51-24, Lakeland 63-17, Livonia Franklin 43-25 and Sand Creek 34-28. In the lone defeat, the Trojans were knocked off 46-24 by Plymouth.

Jackson Rickman (119), Connor Charping (130) and Nolan Rickman (135) all finished with 4-1 records for Trenton in their respective weight classes.

A 3-2 record was posted by several of the Trojans, including Aaron Magryta (103), Brandon Russo (3-2), Ian Collier (125), Brad Boler (140/145), Jack Thomas (3-2), Josh Berry (215) and Ean Purcell (285)

Caleb Coleman (140) came away with a 2-0 record and Brandon Vincent (145/152) was 2-2, with one of Vincent’s victories being a key to the Trojans’ team win against Sand Creek.

Trenton competed again yesterday at the Lakeland Individual Tournament and is scheduled to wrestle Wednesday in a quad meet with Lincoln Park, Huron and Macomb Dakota.

Goodrich Tournament of Champions

Woodhaven traveled to last Saturday’s Goodrich Tournament of Champions and took sixth place overall.

Xavier Graham and Derek Hillman both finished as runners up for the Warriors in their respective weight classes.

Justin Patton came away with a fourth-place finish, while Hunter Grasso, Austin Avision and Jared Ammons each placed fifth. All four wrestlers posted 3-2 records for the day.

Jacob Emery, Devin McClain, Billy Duncan and Tyler Christian all finished in seventh place for the Warriors, each with a 2-1 record.

Woodhaven wrestled at the Novi Catholic Central Invitational yesterday and will see the Shamrocks again Thursday in a quad meet, along with quad host Manchester.

Summit Dragon Duals

At its own Dragon Duals Tournament last Saturday, Summit finished with a 3-2 record as a team.

The host Dragons’ three wins featured a 35-25 defeat of Howell and victories against both Harper Woods and Monroe SMCC.

Area standout TJ Barnes finished up with a perfect 5-0 record for Summit and was honored for his efforts as the Upper Weight MVP of the tournament.

The Dragons’ Dillon Patrick, Caleb Patrick and Shane Conn all posted 4-1 records in their respective weight classes and Jacqueline Riley recorded a pin during the team victory against Howell.

Also at the event, Summit’s Daryl Conley set a school record, as his five-second pin against Harper Woods was the quickest pin in Dragons’ team history.

Summit wrestled at yesterday’s Wyandotte Invitational and will be in action again Wednesday at Dearborn High.

Plymouth Canton Tournament

Roosevelt wrestled at last Saturday’s Plymouth Canton Tournament and finished in ninth place for the day.

As a team, the Bears went 1-4 at the event, earning a 69-6 victory against Dearborn, while losing to Monroe 51-23, Dearborn Fordson 42-36, Hudson 60-16 and Utica 37-36. Lucas King (112) and Quentin Santiago (152) both came away with perfect 5-0 records for Roosevelt. Jeremiah Jaucik (103) and Collin Vargo (135) both finished with 4-1 records for the Bears at the event. Coming away with a 3-2 record for the locals was Aaron Young (119), as well as his teammate Colton Thompson (125).Roosevelt hosted the Wyandotte Invitational yesterday, and will be in action again Jan. 15 in Trenton at a quad meet that will feature the host Trojans and Woodhaven.
