In their last week of the regular season, the Anderson hockey team split games with Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central and Pontiac Notre Dame Prep.

On Feb. 20, the Titans took on SMCC and could not get the offense going falling 4-1.

The Falcons took a three-goal lead through the first two periods before Anderson was finally able to get on board in the final period.

With 11 minutes to play in regulation Austin Simpson got one past SMCC defense to put the Titans on the board. He was assisted by James Birmingham and Mac Slowik.

The Titans fought hard to try and force overtime, but SMCC scored an empty-net goal with 58 seconds left.

Trevor Presnell was in goal for Anderson and stopped 26 of 30 shots faced.

After their loss, the Titans rebounded with an 8-3 victory over Notre Dame Prep over the weekend.

The Titans took a 2-0 lead after the first period.

Goals came from Tim Witz and Kyle Seymour. Birmingham, Nick Spagnoland Kelly O’Brien had the assists.

Prep got their scoring started early in the second period, but Anderson was not going to let the game get close and added four more in the middle period.

Josh Miruk, Matt Cooper and Spagnol (two goals) all added to the Titan offensive effort. Birmingham, O’Brien, and Jonah Peryam had the assists.

Notre Dame again added a goal to start the third period, but the Titans added two more to secure their win.

O’Brien scored on the power play and Slowik finished with a shorthanded goal.

Seymour, Ben Cullin and Alex Manoogian had the assists.

Trevor Presnell and Chris Dusik split the win in net and faced a combined 13 shots.

The Titans put 45 shots on Prep’s goalie.

The Titans took on Trenton in the first round of pre-regionals last night.
