The Woodhaven hockey team bounced back smartly from its first loss in 10 games by collecting another pair of wins and improving its record to 14-4 with wins over Chelsea and Notre Dame Prep.
After losing to Dearborn Divine Child in the Metro League Showcase Jan. 26 in a game than halted a nine-game Woodhaven winning streak, the Warriors hoisted and beat Chelsea 4-1 a week ago.
On Saturday, Coach Bryan Sullivan’s team went to Troy and crushed Metro League rival Notre Dame 7-2.
Jake Hendnadez’s two-goal, four-point night led the way to victory.
Mike Williams, Alex Robinson, Jake Moore, Eric Long and Cody Hastings also scored in the game. Dominic Moore, Viny Vassallo and Long also each had two assists.
Goalie Steven Hurley stopped 16 of 18 ND shots to earn the victory.
Williams, Ribinson and Hastings also scored in the victory over Chelsea. Matt Bederka added the other Woodhaven goal. Williams and Bederka assisted on two of the Warriors’ markers.
In goal, Trevor Monaco was great, facing 34 shots and getting 33 of them.
Woodhaven takes part in the 43-team Michigan Interscholastic Hockey League Prep Hockey Showcase this weekend with games against Birmingham at 5:40 p.m. Thursday and Midland at 6:40 Friday.
