Taylor Kennedy hosted the first-ever Taylor Invitational tennis tournament on Saturday and Gibraltar Carlson came away as the team champion.

A total of six schools were represented at the eight-team tournament, which the Marauders won with 22 points, ahead of second-place Belleville (15) and third-place Kennedy (14).

Overall Carlson won six flight championships and also had a runner-up finish and a third-place finish.

In fourth for the day was Southgate Anderson (13) and it was followed by Lincoln Park (11), Carlsonís JV team (11), New Boston Huron (7) and Kennedyís JV Team (3).

Top Gun this year was Carlsonís Jenna Purvins, as she beat Kennedy's Amber Campbell for the No. 1 singles title.

Also at No. 1 singles, Lincoln Park's Rosario Moreno beat Belleville's Avi Crout in the third-place match, Anderson's Carly Picklo knocked off Huron's Janelle Gillies for the consolation championship and for seventh place Sophia Skuratovich of Carlson's JV team beat Gabriela Navarro of Kennedy's JV team.

At No. 2 singles, Carlsonís Bella Pallazzollo beat Kennedyís Alex King for the championship, while Kaitlyn Brasneer of Belleville defeated Kaitlyn Campbell of Carlson JV for third place, Lincoln Parkís Amanda Stanchik knocked off Andersonís Lexi Nadolsky for the consolation championship and Huronís Jillian Luciow took seventh over Sana Abedi of Kennedy JV.

Kennedyís Sarah Fraley was runner up at No. 3 singles to Bellevilleís Lela Smith. Third place went to Cristina Mirabelli of Carlson with a win over Andersonís Delane Johnson, while the consolation champ was Je Ann Sales of Carlson JV over Ashley Stanchik of Lincoln Park and in seventh was Huronís Makenzie Laskaska over Jaci Gibson of Kennedy JV.

The No. 4 singles title went to Carlsonís Ashley Smith, as she beat Jordynn Smith of Lincoln Park in the championship match. Sara Stevenson of Kennedy took third with a win over Hannah Pafford of Anderson, Lexi Francis of Carlson JV beat Huronís Courtney Stach for the consolation championship and Madeline Heidenreich of Kennedy JV took seventh by default.

At No. 1 doubles, Emily Siemens and Lauren Howard of Carlson won the title with a win over Bellevilleís Taylor Roden and Bailey Etherton. For third place it was Kennedyís Courtny Hampton and Lily Boswell over Emily Fadoir and Chinweoke Ezeokoli of Kennedy JV.

The No. 1 doubles consolation championship went to Chantel Garcia and Olivia Andronic of Anderson with a victory over Huronís Alexis Hamrick and Abby Nieman. In seventh was the Lincoln Park duo of Jordyn Lizak and Rebecca Rivera, as they beat Summer Bojarski and Gabby Genaw of Carlson JV.

Kamryn Lowlerand Emme Brekke of Carlson won the No. 2 doubles title, with a victory over Bellevilleís Morgan Valdahl and Alyssa Schubert. Andersonís Brittia Pinkowski and Jenna Majeske defeated Rachelle Lacroix and Meghan Bruce of Carlson JV for third place.

Winning the No. 2 doubles consolation championship was the Kennedy duo of Kaila Hamilton and Sam Rickard with a victory over Gaby Ornelas and Rosa Garcia of Lincoln Park. Seventh place went to Huronís Jamie Oswald and Jillian Bloch with a win against Kaitlyn Lange and Catrina Stanley of Kennedy JV.

At No. 3 doubles it was Carlsonís Megan Adkins and Alayna Brake in first place, as they beat Bellevilleís Brea Crawford and Hannah Baynesan for the title. Third place was claimed by Andersonís Faith Vignola and Sydney Manor with a win over Lincoln Parkís Britney Dasacco and Brittany Jolley.

Elliah Shank and Isabella Trueblood of Carlson JV beat Kennedyís Alina Lindeman and Alexis Limas for the consolation championship. In seventh was the Huron team of Emma OíKelley and Kylie Parker with a victory against Valerie Orozco and Leslie Vargas of Kennedy JV.

Carlson also reached the championship match at No. 4 doubles, where Lauren Howard and Ashley Mazur finished runner up to Bellevilleís Haley Laine and Shenelle Rimando. For third place, Brianna Wyatt and Nathalya Anderson of Anderson defeated Mia Egler and Shabnam Chohan Kennedy JV.

The consolation champ was Carlson JVís Jenna Henthorn and Maddy Nickols, as they beat Kennedyís Athena Rodopolous and Madyson Lamothe. Seventh place went to the Lincoln Park duo of Alice Pina and Destiny Falcon with a victory over Huronís Jenna Potter and Raven Hodge.
