Tuesday’s Prep Roundup: Summit Academy tops Detroit Cristo Rey in girls soccer

DETROIT - Amanda Gaskin and Alexis Larry each contributed two goals and Romulus Summit Academy prevailed against Detroit Cristo Rey, 8-0, in girls soccer action Tuesday.

Madison Altman, Grace Conti, Jensen Mayes and Keyana Stoudemire all added a goal each for Summit Academy, which improves to 2-1.

- Garden City 3, Flat Rock 2 - At Flat Rock, Mackenzie Marrow and Courtney Woods each scored a goal with assists going to Lauryn Woods and Rhiannon Stanczyk for Flat Rock.

- Allen Park Cabrini 9, New Haven Austin Catholic Academy 1 - (From Monday) At Allen Park, Madison Sukel and Abigail Formella each finished with two goals and Hannah Cieglo, Meghan Bollinger, Gabriella Teems, Sydney DeBlander and Rebecca Cwiek all added a goal apiece for Cabrini.

- Taylor Prep 6-5, Canton Prep 2-4 - (From Monday) At Canton, in the opener, Scott Sabuda allowed one earned run on four hits and tallied seven strikeouts in pitching a complete game on the mound and also chipped in with a two-run home run on offense, Ronald Smith contributed a two-run double and Jose Colon added a pair of hits for Taylor Prep. In the nightcap, Maricio Cruz picked up the win pitching in relief, Smith provided two hits, including an RBI double, Jon Sabuda supplied a pair of hits and Jose Cruz drove in the game-winning run with a sacrifice fly that scored Lance Wrenn for Taylor Prep (2-0).


- Allen Park Cabrini 15, Livonia Clarenceville 0 (3 Innings) - (From Monday) At Livonia, Vivianna Gonzalez allowed no hits and tallied seven strikeouts in three innings pitched and also went 1-for-1 offensively with four RBI, Holly Kimes and Doree Arevalo each finished 1-for-1 and Montana Spears was 1-for-2 for Cabrini (5-0).
