RIVERVIEW - Trenton took home the title at a Division 2 team district held at Riverview on Wednesday.

Trenton received a bye in getting past Romulus in a district semifinal, then bested Allen Park, 50-18, in the final after Allen Park topped Riverview in the other district semifinal. Scoring points for Trenton in the district final round were Sam Rickman (in the 112-pound weight class), who won by major decision, Tanner Smith (119), who won by fall, Tyler Franklin (130), who won by fall, Mike McLellan (140), who won by decision, Ron Rickman (145), who won by major decision, Brandan Matusik (152), who won by void, Jackson Rickman (160), who won by decision, Juette Peterson (171), who won by fall, Connor Charping (189), who won by fall, and Ean Purcell (285), who won by fall. Trenton is 30-6 on the year and will compete at a team regional at New Boston Huron.

More wrestling

- New Boston Huron wins the team district with wins over Gibraltar Carlson (61-8) and Monroe Jefferson (35-21). Jordan Austin (103); Davis Jividen (112); Cameron Arold (130); Nelson Poet (135); Delmar Carr (140); Adam Brenner (145); Lucas Brewer (160) and Drake Pauwels (171) were double winners for Huron. The Chiefs will host the regional finals next week at 5 p.m. (24-8).

Girls Basketball

- Farmington Hills Mercy 47, Allen Park 25 - At Farmington Hills, Chloe Godbold had 15 points. Lexi Thomas had seven points and six rebounds. Jenna Schluter had six points and two assists. Morgan Brietzke had three points and five rebounds for Mercy (14-2). Mercy earns a bye for the first round of the CHSL Tournament. Mercy will play in the semifinals on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. against the winner of Dearborn Divine Child and Macomb Lutheran North. Izzy Slate had seven points for Allen Park (11-5).

- Woodhaven 61, Southgate Anderson 49 – At Southgate, Kennedy Johnson had 32 points and had eight steals. Markayla Hickman had nine points and 10 rebounds. Alyssa Laurain and Jillian Bonot each had five points for Woodhaven.


- Allen Park 6, Gibraltar Carlson 2 - (From Tuesday) Allen Park picked up the win.

- Kennedy Johnson, Woodhaven girls basketball - Johnson had 32 points and had eight steals in a 61-49 victory over Southgate Anderson on Wednesday.
