All Hockey - Boys Stories
The Port Huron Northern hockey team celebrated Seniors Night Tuesday, Feb. 19 at McMorran Pavilion.
Seniors Tyler Hughes, Jimmy Radatz, Matt Fernandez, Erik Olsen and Kyle Truscott were honored.
The Huskies also enjoyed a 5-1 victory against Birmingham Unified to improve to 9-13-1 in their final home contest.
Northern skated to a 3-0 first-period lead and took a 4-1 lead into the final period.
Clay Wilson, Radatz and Hunter Austin each had goals in the opening period with assists going to Olsen, Fernandez, Hughes, Nate Wilson, Hunter Ziarko and Jacob Scott.
The line of Bryce VanHorn, Justin VanBuskirk and Truscott accounted for the final two Northern goals. VanHorn and Truscott each had a goal and an assist and VanBuskirk picked up two assists.
Fernandez was in net and made 20 saves. Northern finished with 41 shots.
