1. Maria Bargardi (Jr.), Farmington Hills Mercy — A leader of a loaded Marlins team, Bargardi won the state title in the 200 individual medley last year as a sophomore.
2. Rachel Johnson (Sr.), Milford — Might be the best distance swimmer in the state. Won the 500 freestyle and was second in the 200 freestyle at last year’s Division 1 meet.
3. Nikki Barczak (Jr.), Farmington Hills Mercy — Finished second in both the 100 and 200 freestyle last year at the Division 2 state meet.
4. Hayley Johnson (Jr.), Birmingham Marian — Arguably the county’s best in the backstroke, Johnson took second in that event at the Division 3 state meet in 2008.
5. Maeve McHugh (Sr.), Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood — Versatile swimmer who can excel in the freestyle, backstroke and in relay events.
6. Annie Lazor (Soph.), Birmingham Groves — Coming off an outstanding freshman season which saw her win the state title in the 100 breaststroke and take third in the 200 IM in Division 2.
7. Paige Drazga (Jr.), South Lyon — Looking for an even better season after placing third in the 100 butterfly and fifth in the 50 freestyle at the Division 1 meet last year.
8. Marissa Blumenthal (Sr.), Bloomfield Hills Lahser — Will be a veteran leader for a youthful Knights team. Finished second in the 100 butterfly and fourth in the 100 backstroke at the Division 3 state meet last year.
9. Taylor Steffl (Jr.), Farmington Hills Mercy — Will be a key component in relay events for the Marlins.
10. Elise Dalley (Jr.), Birmingham Groves — Another outstanding breaststroker for Groves who took third at the Division 2 meet. Also will swim sprint freestyle events.
