The regular season is over for the area's high school boys' cross country teams and both Dearborn High and Divine Child raced through without a scratch.

The Pioneers beat Crestwood and Redford Union 15-50 last Tuesday to complete a 9-0 run through the Western Wayne Athletic Conference. Sam Mousigian was first with Craig Weaver second to lead the winners.

The Falcons finished first at the final Catholic League Jamboree that day to complete a sweep of three events this year. DC topped the charts with 35 points, followed by Pontiac Notre Dame Prep with 42. Dane Miller was second in 17:21 to lead the winners. Zachary Welker was fourth in 17:26, Ryan Mangulabnan sixth in 17:36, Evan Oltman 10th in 17:25 and Sean Soter 13th in 18:06.

Edsel Ford went 8-1 in the WWAC, with the only loss to DHS. On Tuesday, the Thunderbirds beat Romulus 21-36 and collected victories over Annapolis and Robichaud when those schools did not field full teams.

Cougar Tristan Townsend finished first for the first time in his career with a time of 18:51.

"He ran consistent splits throughout the race, picking off runners through the first mile-and-a-half," said Annapolis coach Kevin Knierim. "By the second mile, he took the lead and didn't look back."

Manny Ortiz led Edsel with a time of 19:00 that was good for second place. Robbie DeSantis was fourth, Jahaziel Gordon fifth, Murad Qassem sixth and Mohamed Gobah ninth. For the Cougars, Jesse Taylor was 15th, Zach Meredith 30th and Anmar Al Abolidi 31st.

Fordson beat Garden City 20-40 and Belleville 23-32. Mohammed Faraj won the race in 17:59. Saleh Salim was third in 18:57, Nagi Musid fifth in 19:33, Allen Swaidan eighth in 20:28 and Hassan Hammoud 11th in 20:41.
