FARMINGTON - In baseball action, Carlos Allen recorded the three inning save and recorded a single in the bottom of the sixth inning to add some insurance as Farmington recorded the doubleheader sweep of Pontiac Notre Dame Prep winning the first game 5-3 and taking the nightcap 7-2.

In the first game, Collin Finn went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Scott Newhard went 1-for-3 with an RBI for Farmington.

In the second game, Finn recorded the win on the mound as he pitched five and two thirds innings. He gave up four hits and two runs. Matt Lane went 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Devin Mahanti went 2-for-4 with an RBI for Farmington (22-12). Farmington will play a couple of non-league tune-up games before facing Farmington Hills Harrison in district play on Saturday.

- Auburn Hills Oakland Christian 9-13, Ubly 8-3 – Richard Steffan records his 10th win of the season. Cameron Cotter had three RBI for the Lancers (20-10).

- Hartland 5-5, Zeeland East 4-4 – At Mt. Pleasant, In the first game, Kyle Kletzka recorded the win on the mound with four innings pitched giving up three hits. Hunter Delanoy went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Drew Thompson went 1-for-3. In the second game, Max Hendricks gave up three earned runs. Aiden Ehgotz recorded the win on the mound pitching two scoreless innings. Jake Moyer had an RBI triple. Logan Tobel added an RBI single for Hartland (29-7).

- Stoney Creek 5, Traverse City West 0 - Doug Propson recorded the complete game shutout for Stoney Creek.

- Novi 5-7, Marysville 0-5 – Alec Bageris recorded the complete game shutout in the first game for Novi (18-18-1).

- Clarkston Everest Collegiate 11, Jackson Lumen Christi 5 - Ryan Smith went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI. Nino Mastromatteo went 3-for-4 with an RBI. Luke Luttinen recorded the win on the mound pitching three innings with one earned run and four strikeouts. Grant Burgess pitched four innings with an earned run and a strikeout for Everest.

- Flint Powers 15, Clarkston Everest Collegiate 0 (3 Innings) - The Mountaineers took the tough loss as Smith and Mastromatteo recorded the lone hits in the game.

- Novi Detroit Catholic Central 4-11, Plymouth Salem 2-3 - In the first ten inning game, Matt Harding had three hits and an RBI. Brendan Kassa pitched five and a third innings with three hits and recorded five strikeouts. Billy Compton had two innings pitched with two walks and a strikeout for the Shamrocks. Joey Merucci recorded two hits, including a double and a run scored in the nightcap.

- Southfield A&T 9, Royal Oak Shrine 4 - Khalil Smith had four hits and three RBI in the Warriors’ victory over Shrine. Danny Little drove in two runs and also pitched four innings, striking out four. George Osborne recorded four strikeouts in three innings for A&T. Ben Wright drove in three runs and Jay Hester added two hits for Shrine.

- Utica Community Invitational - Auburn Hills Avondale split a pair of games, defeating Anchor Bay, 5-2, and falling to Sterling Heights Stevenson, 12-0. In the opener, Jake Pershern was the winning pitcher, as he tossed four innings and struck out seven. He helped his cause with three RBI. Conner Gubariu and Brendon Down added two hits apiece. In the second game, Luke McGuire threw a two-hit shutout for Stevenson. Josh Richter had a double for Avondale (24-12).

- Jim Doyle Memorial Tournament - Birmingham Groves won a pair of games in the tournament played at Bay City John Glenn. The Falcons downed Yale, 6-0, and the host team, 6-2. In the first game, Matt Bachand took a no-hitter into the seventh and settled for a one-hitter with no walks and eight strikeouts. Max Novick had two hits, including a double, while scoring and knocking in a run. Zavier Warren doubled, drove in two runs and scored another. In the second game, Ryan Laub recorded the victory over John Glenn with five innings of work. He allowed one run on four hits with five strikeouts. George Cutler had two hits apiece, including a double, and recorded an RBI while Brock Anderson did the same while also scoring a run. Michael Pastoria added a hit, two sacrifices, an RBI and a run scored. Connor Bradbury chipped in two hits and a run scored for Groves (32-6).

- Walled Lake Central 15, Wayne Memorial 0 (From Friday) (4 Innings) - Drew Temple went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Drew Henig went 2-for-3 with a home run and four RBI. Will Crockett went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Pierson Hoy went 1-for-2 with a home run and four RBI. Andrew Wisniewski pitched a complete game with five strikeouts and no earned runs.


- Rochester 20, Madison Heights Lamphere 1 – At Madison Heights, Alexis Wark had a solo home run for Lamphere (14-9, 5-5).

- Madison Heights Bishop Foley 4, Madison Heights Lamphere 3 (9 Innings) - The Lady Rams had hits from Ashley McKigney, Alexis Wark, Elissia Vecere, Shaylia Richardson and Julia Roell in the loss. Foley scored two runs in the top of the seventh inning to tie and ultimately win the game in the ninth inning (14-10, 5-5).

- Khalil Smith, Southfield A&T baseball - Smith supplied four hits and three RBI as the Warriors topped Royal Oak Shrine, 9-4, on Saturday.

- Jake Pershern, Auburn Hills Avondale baseball - Pershern led the way on the mound and the plate in a 5-2 victory over Anchor Bay, 5-2, on Saturday. He was the winning pitcher, going four innings and striking out seven. He helped his cause with three RBI.

- Matt Bachand, Birmingham Groves baseball - Bachand took a no-hitter into the seventh and settled for a one-hitter with no walks and eight strikeouts in a 6-0 shutout of Yale at the Jim Doyle Memorial tournament in Bay City.
