ROCHESTER - In baseball action, Andrew Carol went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and two RBI as Rochester Adams topped Birmingham Seaholm 6-5 in eight innings on Friday.

Michael Van Pelt went 2-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. Andrew Proudfoot added an RBI and Jack Lovalvo went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Proudfoot pitched six innings giving up just four hits, two walks and recording six strikeouts. Will Vogt recorded the win pitching one and two thirds innings for Adams. Max King took the loss pitching seven and a third innings with six earned runs and two strikeouts.

Justin Miller went 1-for-5 with a two-RBI double for Seaholm.

- Birmingham Groves 5, Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood 0 - At Birmingham, Zavier Warren went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two runs scored. Max Novick went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored. Andrew Martin hit a solo home run. Noah Zacharias recorded the win as he pitched five innings, with four hits, one walk and seven strikeouts. Max Whalen closed the game with two innings pitched, two walks and two strikeouts for Groves (30-6). Max Musyj went 2-for-2 with a walk for Cranbrook. Groves will play in the Bay City Tournament tomorrow.

- Oxford 7, Clarkston Everest Collegiate 0 – At Oxford, Gage Warzecha went 3-for-3, two runs scored and had three RBI. Jack Kitchner pitched five shutout innings giving up just two hits and recorded six strikeouts. Six other players had a hit for Oxford. Mitchel Rozwadowski and Grant Burgess had a hit for Everest. Ryan Smith took the loss as he recorded a strikeout for the Mountaineers.

- Troy 13-10, Canton Prep 2-0 - At Troy, in the five-inning opener, Jake Soules was 3-for-3 with a double, a pair of triples and five RBI, Connor Wilson, Aaron Sexton, Josh Corsello and Cam Mercer all went 2-for-3 and Sexton earned the pitching win in yielding no runs and tallying three strikeouts in five innings on the mound for Troy. In game two, Robert Banas went 3-for-3 with three runs driven in, Scott Mittelbrun, Soules and Nick Sacco all finished 2-for-3 and Corsello fanned six in four hitless innings pitched for Troy (19-16).

- Royal Oak 4, Sterling Heights Parkway Christian 0 - At Royal Oak, Jake Isaacson (four innings pitched) and Ethan Davis (three innings pitched) combined to deal a one-hit shutout and Isaacson and Hayden Haran provided run-scoring singles at the plate as part of a four-run sixth inning for the Ravens (21-6).

- Royal Oak Shrine 8, Madison Heights Lamphere 1 - At Madison Heights, Tom Peaslee recorded the win as he pitched five innings, he gave up just one hit, one unearned run and grabbed four strikeouts. On offense, he went 1-for-3 with an RBI and two steals. Jay Hester went 1-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Ben Wright went 1-for-2 with a double and two RBI. Malachi Flood went 1-for-3 with an RBI for Shrine (21-10). Royal Oak Shrine travels to play Southfield A&T tomorrow.


- Novi 7, South Lyon East 2 - At South Lyon, Ally Cummings, Ashley Yarberry and Anna Mizerowski all provided multiple hits and Mizerowski, Cummings, Sophie Rallis and Allison Purtell all supplied an RBI each for Novi, which led 5-0 after the second inning.

- Troy Athens 4, L’Anse Creuse 1 - At Harrison Township, Karlie Peplinski tallied three hits, Payton Ellinger provided a home run and Lanie Ellinger struck out six in a complete-game pitching effort for Athens.

- Farmington Hills Mercy 8-13, Bay City Central 4-5 – At Farmington Hills, In the first game, Shannon Gibbons went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and two RBI. Anna Dixon went 2-for-4 with a run scored and three RBI. Sophia Van Acker went 2-for-4 with a double and two run scored. Sarah Cassidy went 2-for-3 with a hit by pitch and an RBI. Emily Rzepecki went 2-for-2 with a walk, a run scored and an RBI. Olivia Iafrate recorded the win in the circle as she pitched a complete game with nine hits, four runs, three earned, one walk and four strikeouts. In the nightcap, Nicole Belans went 3-for-4 with a double, walk, two run scored and three RBI. Gibbons went 3-for-5 with a walk, two runs scored and two RBI. Dixon went 3-for-5 with a triple, three runs scored and two RBI. Mary Reeber went 2-for-5 with two runs scored, a walk and an RBI. Samantha Shea recorded the win in the circle as she pitched a complete game giving up six hits, five runs, four earned, with four walks and 10 strikeouts for the Marlins (24-10). Mercy will host Trenton tomorrow at 8:30 a.m.

Girls Lacrosse

- Rochester 22, Warren Regina 12 - At Warren, Kendall Jordan finished with four goals and four assists, Claire McPherson added four goals and an assist, Rylee Martin contributed four goals and Emily Yerge chipped in with three tallies for Rochester (13-6), which advances to face Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook-Kingswood in Wednesday’s regional semifinals. Nicole Bordo registered seven goals for Regina.

Girls Soccer

- Oxford 2, Fenton 0 (From Thursday) – The Wildcats (8-4-5) will begin district play on Tuesday.

- Andrew Carol, Rochester Adams baseball - Carol finished 2-for-4 with a double, a pair of RBI and a run scored as Adams went on to top Birmingham Seaholm, 6-5, in eight innings Friday.

- Kendall Jordan, Rochester girls lacrosse - Jordan registered four goals and four assists to help Rochester get past Warren Regina, 22-12, Friday, and move on to the regional semifinal round of the state tournament.

- Karlie Peplinski, Troy Athens softball - Peplinski tallied three hits to help lift Athens to a 4-1 win against L’Anse Creuse Friday.

- Jake Soules, Troy baseball - Soules had a big day at the plate to help lift Troy to a doubleheader sweep of Canton Prep Friday. In the opener, which Troy won, 13-2, Soules went 3-for-3 with a double, a pair of triples and five runs driven in, and then followed it up with a 2-for-3 effort at the plate in the nightcap, which Troy won, 10-0.

- Anna Dixon, Farmington Hills Mercy softball – Dixon went 5-for-9 with a triple, four runs scored and five RBI as Mercy recorded a doubleheader sweep of Bay City Central, 8-4, and 13-5, respectively, on Friday.
