WHITE LAKE – Teresa Menzel pitched back-to-back complete games and Lauren Castellon hit a pair of home runs as Lakeland continues the winning ways with 9-0 and 11-2 victories over Waterford Kettering on Wednesday.

Lakeland remains unbeaten (15-0) and is the only KLAA team to still be unblemished this season.

In the first game, Teresa Menzel pitched a complete game shutout as she allowed just two hits, one walk and five strikeouts. Elizabeth Langley went 2-for-4. Lauren Castellon went 1-for-3 as she hit a three-run home run. Menzel and Chase Schultz went 1-for-4 respectively for the Eagles.

Maddie French took the loss in the circle for the Captains.

In the second game, Menzel pitched another complete game giving up just five hits, two runs, one walk and four strikeouts. Kaley Miller went 3-for-3. Schultz went 3-for-3. Mary Zimmerman went 2-for-4 and Jordan Cook went 1-for-1 for the Eagles. Rianna Koteles added a home run. Castellon recorded her second home run of the day. Lakeland added sixth runs in the sixth and seventh innings combined.

French took the loss with three innings, six hits, five runs and one walk. Samantha Griffith went 2-for-4 and French went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run for the Captains.

- Walled Lake Northern 10-5, Walled Lake Central 0-2 - At Walled Lake, In the first game, Hannah Bunker went 2-for-3 with a stolen base. Kayce Loehr went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Sam Harris went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Cassie Srankowiak recorded the win in the circle for Northern. Jessica Cuzer had two hits for Central. In the nightcap, Courtney Callahan went 2-for-4 with two doubles and three RBI. Loehr went 2-for-4 with an RBI. Marley Booth went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Mckenzie Knight recorded the win for Northern (12-3, 7-3 KLAA).

- Farmington 5-16, Berkley 1-5 – At Farmington, In the first game, Lauren Johnson went 3-for-4 with a double and two runs scored. Danielle Petras went 2-for-3 with a double and two RBI. Caitlin Sheltrown had a two-run single for Farmington. Robyn Banks pitched a complete game with two hits, one run, two walks and 12 strikeouts. In the second game, Banks recorded the win again as she pitched six innings, giving up six hits, seven strikeouts and a walk. Johnson went 4-for-5 with four runs scored and two RBI. Banks went 5-for-5 with a double a three-run home run and six RBI. Danielle Petras went 4-for-5 with a two-run home run and a double for Farmington.

- Milford 10-2, Brighton 4-13 – At Milford, In the first game, Hailey Curtis recorded the win in the circle as she pitched six and a third innings with giving up seven hits and four runs and recorded a home run for Milford. Koryn Pennebaker, Curtis, Kayla Pennebaker, and Smith each collected multiple hits. Smith, Curtis, and Pennebaker each drove in two runs. Lauren Carrannanto added three stolen bases. Audrey Petoskey went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in the nightcap. Jenna Carlisle took the loss in the circle.

- Walled Lake Western 8-10, Waterford Mott 2-4 - At Commerce, Julia Barrett was 3-for-4 with two doubles and two RBI and Lia Krawiec rapped four hits and scored two runs in the first game of a KLAA North softball doubleheader for the Warriors. In the second game, Barrett banged out two doubles and had two RBI, and Ryliegh Perry had four hits and an RBI, and scored a run for the winners.

- Holly 7-7, Fenton 6-6 – At Fenton, Madisen Beesley led the way the first game both pitching and hitting. Hailey Thompson started the scoring in the nightcap with a grand slam in the first inning. Marissa Beck closed out the game to earn the save in the circle for the Bronchos.

- Howell 15, Hartland 11 - (From Tuesday) - Sam Nagel collected four hits. Hannah Mourad drove in an RBI with a single in the first inning. Madelin Skene took the loss in the circle. Delanie Grundman, Bri Robeson, Skene, Mourad, and Clare Minsker each collected multiple hits for the Eagles while Mourad and Skene added three RBI.


- Oxford 2-1, Rochester Adams 1-5 – At Rochester, In the first game, Chase Lusader went 2-for-4 with a run scored. Jack Lovalvo went 2-for-2 with a walk. Matt Nixon pitched a complete game with four hits, two runs, one earned and seven strikeouts. In the second game, Alex Manhalt went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Andrew Carol and Lusader both recorded an RBI while Lusdaer added a hit and a run scored. Jack Reno pitched five innings with two hits, one run, one earned, three walks and seven strikeouts for Adams.

- Walled Lake Northern 4, Walled Lake Central 3 (11 Innings) – At Walled Lake, Kyle Gilbert went 3-for-5 including the game-winning solo home run in the top of the 11th. Bob Jones was 2-for-5 with two RBI. Dale Barnhart was 2-for-3 and Zack Northcott picks up the win pitching the final eight innings giving up two earned runs, striking out five batters for Northern (12-6, 5-4 KLAA). Game two was suspended because of darkness after three innings with Northern leading 4-0.

- Lakeland 10-10, Waterford Kettering 1-0 - At Waterford, Spencer Schorling was the winner in the first game, striking out six in tossing a three-hitter. Wyatt Parmeter was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Trent Farquhar also drove in a run on a pair of hits for the winners. Nick Brown drove in a run for the Captains.In the second game, Cass Phillips tossed a complete game 3-hitter with eight strikeouts. Brett Lingenfelter was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Grant Smith added a pair of RBI.Will Bentley had a hit and two runs scored. Aaron Brady was 1-for-2 for the Captains. Lakeland is 14-5.

- Walled Lake Western 8-0, Waterford Mott 2-7 – At Walled Lake, In the first game, Steven Leist went 2-for-3 and Connor Kin knocked in three runs for the Warriors. Scott Shingleton pitched five innings, scattering five hits and struck out five to pick up the win. Alex Krueger pitched two scoreless innings to close out the game. Keith Carpenter hit a grand slam in the second inning which turned out to be the deciding blast. In the second game, Noah Scyzoryk threw a complete game shutout, striking out nine batters and only allowing four hits. Matthew Scally and Alexander Westmorland had two hits each for the Corsairs.

- Royal Oak 11-5, Hazel Park 1-1 – At Royal Oak, In the first game, Dan Romito broke open the scoreless contest early with a two-run single in the fourth inning. Rob DeBastos hit a two-run double and a ground out from Hayden Haran. The Ravens scored four runs in the sixth inning to take the game. In the nightcap, DeBastos and David Lundeen added run-scoring hits and an RBI double by Sam Perkey for the Ravens (10-2, 5-0). Hazel Park (4-7, 0-4).

- Auburn Hills Avondale 6-0, Bloomfield Hills 2-2 - At Auburn Hills, Jake Pershern was the winning pitcher in the first game, allowing four hits and striking out three. Brandon Wynn was 2-for-3 and Brendon Down rapped a pair of hits. In the second game, Patrick Najor was the winning pitcher for the BlackHawks, striking out six and allowing three hits. Dugan Fife had two hits and scored once, and Jaden Hanna was 2-for-3. Avondale is 14-8 (2-3 OAA Blue) and Bloomfield Hills is 11-6 (3-3).

- Southfield A&T 9, Troy Athens 5 - At Southfield, Danny Little went 2-for-4 with two RBI. George Osborne went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Duane Henderson went 1-for-2 with two RBI. Khalil Smith recorded the win in relief (5-10). Joey Stark went 1-for-3 with two RBI and walk for Athens. Austin Saltzbach went four innings as he gave up five hits, four runs, two earned, one walk and four strikeouts for Athens.

- Birmingham Detroit Country Day 7, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 5 - At Birmingham, John Malcom went 1-for-3 with a double and two stolen bases. Parker Pilat went 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI. Anthony Toma went 1-for-1 with an RBI for Country Day (16-2).

- Birmingham Groves 10, West Bloomfield 0 – (5 Innings) At Birmingham, Chaise Ford pitched a complete game one-hit shutout with two walks and four strikeouts. On offense, he went 2-for-3 with two doubles. George Cutler went 2-for-3 with a two-run home run. Andrew Martin went 3-for-3 with two doubles. Michael Pastoria went 3-for-3 with a double. Connor Bardbury went 2-for-3 with a double for Groves (16-2, 7-1 OAA White). Groves recorded seven doubles in the game and outscored West Bloomfield 38-1 in the three-game series.

- Rochester 6, Lake Orion 0 – At Lake Orion, Jacob Jackson threw a four-hit shutout for the Falcons.

- Brighton 5, Milford 3 (9 Innings) – At Milford, Brendan Perrett and Nick Beether recorded two hits. Beether added a pair of RBI. Seth Seelye pitched six and two thirds innings with five strikeouts. Nick Friedman took the loss on the mound pitching two and a third innings for Milford.

- Troy 10, Berkley 1 – At Troy, In the first game, Scott Mittelbrun went 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. He recorded the win on the mound as he pitched five innings, with four hits, one earned run and two walks. Josh Corsello went 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Connor Wilson went 2-for-4 with two RBI (9-10). Jake Soles went 2-for-2. Tae Whinham had two hits and Wyatt Deeds had an RBI for Berkley.

Girls Soccer

- Ferndale 1, Warren Woods Tower 1 - At Warren, Daphne Wilson tallied a goal that was assisted by Olivia McKee for Ferndale (2-4-3).

- Madison Heights Lamphere 3, Port Huron 0 – At Port Huron, Lindsey Smith, Ava Riley, and Destiny Carr scored a goal for Lamphere.

- Northville 1, Plymouth Salem 1 - (From Tuesday) - Erica Toupin scored a goal and Abby Gardiner added an assist for Northville. Gabriella Mazzuca scored a goal and Katie Coleman had an assist for Salem. Carlie Castiglione made five saves for Northville (4-6-3). Salem (5-2-3).

- Lakeland 1, Walled Lake Western 0 - (From Tuesday) - Megan Reiter scored the lone goal of the game for the Eagles. Lakeland stays in second place in the KLAA North and will face Waterford Mott on Thursday.

Boys Lacrosse

- Huron Valley United 10, Waterford United 4 – At Milford, Andrew Simonich added three goals and an assist. Jacob Calderon had two goals and an assist. Danny Yates scored twice and Zach Kiel added a goal. Alex Hubbard had three assists and R.J. Solar had an assist for Huron Valley.

- Hartland 20. Grand Blanc 1 (From Monday) - Garnet Potter added three goals and an assist. Tristan Meadows, Jack Smith and Cam Veto scored three goals. Justin Light added two goals and an assist. Maveric Muscat added a goal and two assists. Andrew Spisz, Reece Potter and Jake Gallaher added a goal and an assist. Nico Candela and Steven Payter added a goal. Brady Lockwood, Jake Collins and Ross Preston had an assist for Hartland.

Girls Lacrosse

- Hartland 16, Walled Lake Northern 6 – Hartland grabbed the win on the road.

- Birmingham United 15, Troy 12 - Meryl Feys and Sofia Johnson added six goals and four goals respectively. Grace Murray had three goals and Hailey Roovers had three assists. Chapman and goalie Kaitlin Blumberg led the way for the stout Birmingham defense (7-1).

- Birmingham Marian 16, Bloomfield Hills Academy of the Sacred Heart 9 – At Birmingham, Lauren Cosgrove scored five goals and Mia Hannawa had four goals for Marian.

Boys Golf

- Royal Oak 191, Southfield A&T 261 – At Southfield, Ben Brewster shot a 39 for the Ravens who remain undefeated in dual match league play.

- Lakeland 186, Walled Lake Northern 187 (From Tuesday) - Ben Cohen shot a 44. Austin Gogola had a score of 49 which determined the fifth tiebreaker to give the Eagles the win (2-1).

- (From Tuesday) - Birmingham Roeper shot a 195 in the match against Auburn Hills Oakland Christian as Austin DeGuia shot a 42 and Lukas Sznewajs scored a 44.

- (From Tuesday) - Royal Oak finished in second place at Farmington Hills GC. The match competed in Ryder Cup style format as the first group finished all square while groups two and three lost 2-1.

- (From Saturday) - Roper finished fifth in the MIAC Tournament with a team score of 423.

- Wixom St. Catherine of Siena 4, Madison Heights Bishop Foley 4 – (From Tuesday) At Wixom, Colleen Herrmann (6-1, 6-4); Gabi Lincoln (6-3, 6-4); Mary Kate Bodien (6-2, 6-3); and Dominique Sovis (6-4, 7-5) picked up singles wins for the Stars (3-1-1).

- Oxford 8, Ferndale 0 - (From Tuesday) -Oxford took the match at home in the cold and windy conditions to stay undefeated in the league.

- Royal Oak 101, Hazel Park 23 – At Hazel Park, Jack Mulcahy in the 800m, Eli Yarmy in the 1600m, Adam Hill in 3200m, Alex Breen in the high jump, Daniel Baker in the long jump, and the 4x100m relay team of Ethan Nowakowski, Joey Nasi, Tommy McEwen, and A'djin Sullivan highlighted the Raven victory (3-1-1).

- Julia Barrett, Walled Lake Western softball – Barrett added five hits in the doubleheader with four doubles and four RBI as Walled Lake Western topped Waterford Mott 8-2 and 10-4 respectively on Wednesday.

- Hailey Thompson, Holly softball - Thompson started the scoring in the nightcap with a grand slam in the first inning as Holly topped Fenton in the doubleheader with a pair of 7-6 wins respectively on Wednesday.

- Meryl Feys, Birmingham United girls lacrosse - Feys added six goals as United topped Troy 15-12 on Wednesday.
