BEVERLY HILLS – In softball action, Jacqueline Spizizen pitched a no-hitter and recorded 18 strikeouts as Birmingham Detroit Country Day defeated Auburn Hills Avondale 9-0 on Thursday.

Erinn English and Jessica Garmen both had a pair of hits for Country Day (2-0).

Country Day will face Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett on Saturday.

More softball

- Oxford 8-8, Romeo 2-0 - At Oxford, In the first game, Mackenzie Miller went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Hannah Vachon went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Sarah Tyrrell went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Kaitlyn Bean recorded 10 strikeouts. In the second game, Hannah Vachon gave up four hits and recorded five strikeouts. Chloe Allen had three hits and four RBI. Kaitlyn Bean and Sarah Tyrrell had a pair of RBI. Maddie Morris recorded two hits and a home run.

- Hartland 12, Walled Lake Central 8 – At Hartland, Avery Fay and Emma Romick both went 2-for-4 with a double respectively for Walled Lake Central (0-4, KLAA). Clare Minsker, Bri Robeson, Miranda Millington, Delanie Grundman, Skene, and Sam Nagel each collected multiple hits. Millington, Robeson, and Minsker each collected three hits for Hartland. Anna Kemp recorded the win in the circle for the Eagles.

- Milford 13, Walled Lake Western 3 - At Milford, Natalie Herrington struck out six and collected the win for the Mavericks. Hailey Curtis, Audrey Petoskey, Koryn Pennebaker, Natalie Herrington, Kayla Pennebaker, Lauren Carrannanto and Allison Smith each collected multiple hits for Milford. Rhianon Esshaki hit two solo home runs and Julia Barrett went 3-for-3 with an RBI for Western (2-3).

- Royal Oak 13, Bloomfield Hills 12 - At Royal Oak, Marissa Krynak threw a complete game, striking out five batters. The Raven offense was led by Hannah Lefave who went 3-for-4. scoring five runs. Sierra Randle and Ashley Beeker each scored three runs Mallory Dubay went 3-for-5 with two RBI. Lily O'Branovic had a double going 1-for-4 for Royal Oak.

- Rochester Adams 2-6, Stoney Creek 7-4 - At Rochester, In the first game, Sarah Judis went 2-for-2 with an RBI. Peyton Martin went 1-for-2. Hannah Tyree had six strikeouts. In the second game, Lindsay Densmore went 2-for-3. Emma Curran went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Brynna Garden went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Judis went 1-for-2. Nicole Claerhout went 1-for-2. Judis pitched four innings to record the win in the circle giving up just one hit for Adams (1-4).

- Lakeland 10, Brighton 3 – At Brighton, Teresa Menzel recorded the win in the circle as she pitched a complete game giving up three runs and walking one batter. Elizabeth Langley went 2-for-4 with a double. Chase Schultz went 2-for-4 and Mary Zimmerman went 3-for-4. Menzel went 3-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, an RBI and a walk. Madeline Langdon went 1-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Brooke Perry recorded a pair of RBI. Riana Koteles went 1-for-4 with a double and Kyra Miller had two RBI for Lakeland (3-0).

- Madison Heights Lamphere 10, Roseville 5 – At Roseville, Leeanna Radick earned the win and contributed two doubles and a triple. Alexis Wark recorded a two-run home run. Julia Roell chipped in with a double and single. Allison Hesse robbed a home run with a catch off the fence and Racheal Schorrn got the save and had a key catch to seal the victory in the MAC crossover game for Lamphere (2-0).

- Southfield Christian 12, Clawson 5 – At Clawson, Lexi Prestel added two doubles and a single and had four RBI. Maranda Sailor had a double, a single and scored three runs. Emma Paryaski earned the win in the circle with a complete game, three hits, five runs, seven walks and 13 strikeouts for the Eagles.

- Howell 11, Hartland 6 (From Wednesday) - At Howell, Madelin Skene took the loss for the Eagles. Clare Minsker had three hits and Brooke Cowan and Bri Robeson each collected multiple hits.


- Auburn Hills Avondale 9, Port Huron Northern 3 – At Port Huron, Will Sahoome went 3-for-5 with two runs scored. Adam Mansfield and Brandon Wynn had a hit and two RBI apiece. Jake Pershern went 1-for-3 with two RBI. On the mound, he recorded the win with five innings pitched and nine strikeouts for Avondale (7-1). Port Huron Northern (6-1).

- Birmingham Detroit Country Day 5, Rochester Adams 1 – At Beverly Hills, Andrew Toma recorded the win with six innings pitched he allowed no runs and had two strikeouts. Steve Mann went 2-for-2 with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI. Nick Neibauer went 1-for-3 with a double and three RBI for Country Day (7-1).

- Ferndale 11, Warren Lincoln 0 - At Ferndale, Max Dutra pitched five no hit innings for the win. Ferndale improves to 1-3.

- Oxford 8-2, Owosso 0-0 – At Oxford, In the first game, Mario Scribner and Connor Romine combined in the shutout giving up just one hit, one walk and recording seven strikeouts combined. Anthony D'Alessandro, Ben Nuss, and Gage Warzecha had two hits. Ben Nuss, Gage Warzecha, Anthony D'Alessandro, and Brandon Barrows had an RBI. In the second game, Ben Gingell pitched a no-hitter in the shortened game with three walks and eight strikeouts. Jack Smalley went 2-for-2. Garrett Tyrrell and Ben Nuss recorded a hit for Oxford.

- Walled Lake Western 11, Milford 9 - At Milford, Kevin Guggemos went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double and five RBI. Tommy Hoevener went 2-for-4 and also knocked in two runs. Josh Messing picked up his first varsity win and Ilija Lazich recorded the save in relief for Western (2-2, 2-2 KLAA North).

- Birmingham Groves 6, Royal Oak 3 - At Royal Oak, Noah Zacharias took a no-hitter into the sixth inning. Tyler Newitt recorded the save for Groves. John Kowalchuk, Michael Pastoria, Zavier Warren and Andrew Martin led the offense for the Falcons (3-0). David Lundeen went 6 innings, allowing four runs on six hits for the Ravens. Jamie Bartelotti drove in two runs and Sean Marshall added an RBI for Royal Oak (3-2).

- Warren Mott 5, Madison Heights Lamphere 4 (From Wednesday) - At Warren, Caleb Liske went four innings, allowing just one run for Lamphere (2-5).

- Milford 6-0, Grand Blanc 4-7 (From Wednesday) - In the opener, Nick Friedman recorded the win on the mound and recorded a double, triple and two RBI. Connor Jensen went 2-for-2 with a pair of runs scored and walks.

- Howell 4-3, Hartland 3-4 (From Wednesday) – Hartland split a doubleheader at Howell.

Girls Soccer

- Troy Athens 3, Rochester 1 – At Troy Athens, Ashley Leonard, Jenny Demattei and Skyla Gebauer scored a goal. Alli Leonard and Gebauer added an assist for Athens.

- Rochester Adams 1, Bloomfield Hills 0 – At Bloomfield Hills, Hailey Wentzloff scored a goal assisted by Sara Samolinski. Maggie Rogers recorded the shutout for Adams.

- Waterford Mott 2, Waterford Kettering 0 - At Waterford, Kayli Loza scored off an assist from Kendra Lewis and Hannah Crum added a goal assisted by Lauren Maybee. Tairyn Webb and Marissa Lossia both earned time in net for Mott (5-0).

- Madison Heights Lamphere 2, St. Clair 2 – At Madison Heights, Victoria Chandler and Morgan Wand had a goal for Lamphere (2-0-2, 1-0-1).

- Troy 1, North Farmington 0 - At Troy, Tahra Brodbine scored a last second half goal and Lindsey Bolas recorded the shutout for Troy.

- Madison Heights Lamphere 6, Port Huron Northern 0 (From Wednesday) - At Port Huron, Ava Riley and Destiny Carr each scored two goals while Victoria Chandler and Lauren Mexico each added a goal for Lamphere (2-0-1).

- Northville 0, Walled Lake Northern 0 (From Wednesday) - Carlie Castiglione made six saves for the shutout for the Mustangs (0-3-1). Northern (1-3-1).

Girls Tennis

- Hartland 6, Milford 3 – At Hartland, Amanda Reilly (4-6, 7-5, 10-8) and Emily Bredin (6-3, 7-6, 7-4) recorded singles wins. Anna Bredin and Sam Seelinger (6-2, 6-0); Rachel Ceresa-Tara Petersen (6-1, 6-0). Sydney Brief-Becca Habarth (6-1, 6-1); Erin Vimr-Megan Wallon (6-0, 6-0).

Boys Lacrosse

- Lake Orion 13, Birmingham United 7 - At Lake Orion, the home team’s Sam Parillo led with five goals and five assists. Fellow Dragon Nicolo Ruffini scored three goals and added an assist and Peyton Gasche had two goals and one assist. Lake Orion is now 5-0 overall and Birmingham United is 1-3 overall.

- Royal Oak 18, Auburn Hills Avondale 3 - At Auburn Hills, Stephen Curtis and Ryan Iles helped pace the offense for the Ravens.

- Hartland 12, Northville 9 (From Wednesday) - Reece Potter scored five goals. Jake Gallagher had three goals. Jeff Putz, Cam Veto, Garnet Potter and Andrew Spisz added a goal while Maveric Muscat had two assists for Hartland.

- Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 15, Flint Powers 5 (From Wednesday) - Max Stowe scored three goals. Zach Atkins, Danny Caton, Jonathon Chabot and Ryan Genord all scored two goals. Chris Fitzpatrick, Joe Mervenne, Lorenzo Minaudo and Nick Pollack each found the net. Victor Wagner, Matt Knill and Jacob Mukhtar anchored the defense for the Irish.

- North Farmington 6, Royal Oak 5 – (From Tuesday) North Farmington recorded the win on the road.

- Oxford 15, Farmington 4 - At Oxford, the Wildcats were led by Spencer Petoskey' with six goals. Garrett Stuk's added three and Robert Rodriguez connected with two. Goalie Giovanni DeBlasi stopped ten shots to notch his fourth win. Oxford is 4-1 overall and 2-0 in the OAA.

Girls Lacrosse

- Troy Athens 10, Rochester Adams 9 – Maddie Crum scored five goals. Aubrey Kapala added three goals. Hailey Abro recorded the win in net with several key saves for Athens.

Boys Track and Field

- Royal Oak 64, Southfield A&T 64 (From Wednesday) - Christian Borski (110 hurdles, 300 hurdles) and Patrick Tesho (100, 200 dash) each registered two victories. Borski and Tesho also ran on the 800 relay team along with Junior Fields and Tommy Adesanya that grabbed the win. Dane Baker (1600 run), Patrick Fegan (800 run), and Adam Hill (3200 run) also recorded a victory for Royal Oak.

Girls Track and Field

- Royal Oak 95, Southfield A&T 33 – (From Wednesday) - Kaitlin Cross (2nd, 200 dash and part of the winning 800 relay and 1600 relay teams), Krista Gazda (2nd, 400, and was part of the 800 relay and 1600 relay team) Olivia Decker (1st, long jump and was a part of the winning 400 relay team) and Danielle Ferrero (1st, 800 and was part of the 3200 relay. Katie Forsyth (1st, in the 1600 and the winning 1600 relay team. Claire Kochanski (1st, high jump; 300 hurdles. Samantha Potter (1st, discus; 3rd, 400 meters; part of winning 800 and 1600 relay teams) for the Ravens.

- Auburn Hills Avondale 79, Troy Athens 48 (From Wednesday) – The 3200 Relay team of Liz Beckas, Emma Pfeiffer, Suzanne Pfeiffer and Emily Plumer recorded a first place finish of 11:11. Madeline Bahorski finished the two mile run in first place with a time of 14:26. Suzanne Pfeiffer recorded a win in the 800 Meter run 2:39. She also recorded a win in the 1600 (5:43). Kendle Dye won the 300 Hurdles (58.10). Kayla Adams (1st, 100 Hurdles, 18.93). Adams along with Claire Matthews, Jenna Haskins and Zyair Clark finished first in the 400 Relay (53.00). Kayla Adams, Zyair Clark, Njeri Martin and Jenna Haskins ran a first place time in the 800 Relay (1:56). Adams (1st, 100 Dash, 12.94). Mathews (1st, 200 Dash, 28.00). Matthews (1st, Long Jump 15-7.5). Casey Anderson (1st, Discus, 80-10.5) rounded out the winners for Avondale.

- North Farmington 71, Birmingham Groves 57 (From Wednesday) - Leading the Raiders was Kierra Crockett with first place finishes in the High Jump (5'0"), 400m (59.5) and a member of the 800 Relay and 1600 Relay. Whitney Reid contributed three first place finishes in the 1600 run (5:46.5), 3200 Run (12:28) and a member of the 3200m Relay. Raven Tatum also had three first place finishes in the 200m Dash (26.2) and as a member on the 800m and 1600m relays. A'Jani Williams was a member on the 800 and 1600 relays as well as contributing two second place finishes in the 200 and 400 dash. Mackenzy Cleaver was also on the 800 and 1600 relay. Skyler Spanabel was the winner of the 800 run (2:47.5) as well as a member of the 3200 relay along with Emmy Issel and Victoria Greenbaum.

- Wixom St. Catherine finished in second place in the CHSL meet with 112 points. Scoring for the Stars were: A. Merucci High Jump; G. Kueber and E Dolowy in Long Jump; J. Wyeth in Shot Put; J. Wyeth and M. Coley in Discus; 4X800 team of S. Ryan, E. McDonough, E Dolowy, and A. Borek; G Kueber 100 HH; 4X200 team of S. Hodges, E. McDonough, A. Dark, A. Merucci; A. Worth was first in the 1600m run; 4X100 team of G. Kueber, A. Maida, A. Malinowski, J. Wyeth; S. Ryan, A. Merucci and A. Dark in the 400, A. Maida and G. Kueber in 300H; E. McDonough and E. Dolowy in 800m run; S. Ryan and S. Hodges in 200m run; A. Worth and A. Borek were 1st and 2nd in the 3200; 4X400 relay team of S Hodges, A. Merucci, E. Dolowy, and S. Ryan. The Stars finished just behind Riverview Gabriel Richard that won the first CHSL meet of the year.
