MADISON HEIGHTS - In baseball action, Tom Peaslee was 2-for-3 with one run scored, three stolen bases and he recorded the save as Royal Oak Shrine edged Madison Heights Lamphere 3-1 on Wednesday.

Jack Salerno was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Brennan Carr was 1-for-3 with a run scored and a double.

Shrine is 1-0.

Gabe Dionisio recorded a home run on offense for Lamphere (1-2), while Rams pitchers struck out 14 Shrine hitters on the day.

- Lakeland 4, Howell 3 – At Howell, Grant Smith pitched a strong six and two thirds innings with one earned run, two walks and seven strikeouts Cade Parmeter and Spencer Schorling added a hit and and an RBI for the Eagles (1-0, 1-0 KLAA). Lakeland will resume play on Monday, April 10 against Novi Detroit Catholic Central.

- Novi Detroit Catholic Central 15, Orchard Lake St. Mary’s 6 – At Novi, In game one, Brendan Kassa pitched five and a third innings of no-hit baseball and recorded six strikeouts for the Shamrocks.

- Troy 8, Romeo 5 - At Romeo, Cameron Mercer was 2-for-3 with a walk and an RBI and Nick Sacco recorded two hits and drove in two runs to lead the Colts (1-0). Connor Wilson chipped in two hits for Troy. Romeo's Eddie Dorpinski had two hits and an RBI for the Bulldogs (0-1).

- Clinton Township Chippewa Valley 8, Auburn Hills Avondale 4 – At Auburn Hills, Jake Pershern went 3-for-4 with a double, a home run and three RBI. Adam Mansfield took the loss on the mound (1-1). Chippewa Valley (1-0). Avondale plays next on Monday against Port Huron.

- Oxford 4, Utica 1 – At Utica, Garrett Tyrrell, Zak Schwerin, and Brandon Barrows each collected multiple hits. Ben Gingell recorded the win on the mound as he pitched two innings, gave up two hits, gave up just one run and recorded three strikeouts. Mario Scribner started the game on the mound pitching two innings, giving up just a hit and recording a strikeout for Oxford.

- Birmingham Groves 8, Berkley 0 - At Birmingham, six Groves’ pitchers held Berkley to one hit. Max Novick got the win throwing the first two innings. Tyler Newitt struck out 2-of-3 batters he faced. Ryan Laub and Max Whalen threw an inning apiece. Connor Bradbury and Chaise Ford were both 2-for-2 with two doubles. Chaise also scored one run, added three RBI and pitched one scoreless inning walking one. Noah Zacharias was 1-for-1 and threw one scoreless inning. John Kowalchuk was 1-for-1 with a walk. For Berkley, Rory McKelvey had the sole hit going 1-for-1 and Kyle Domzalski threw three innings with zero hits, walking four and striking out four. Groves is now 1-0 and Berkley 0-1 overall.

- Clawson 17, Warren Fitzgerald 9 – At Warren, T.J. Verner went 2-for-4 with two walks, and two runs scored. Blake Haney went 2-for-4 with a walk and two runs scored. Matt Stewart went 3-for-5 with a pair of runs scored for Clawson. Clawson will face Romulus Summit Academy in a doubleheader on Saturday.

- Waterford Kettering 6, South Lyon East 3 - At South Lyon, Kettering’s Nick Brown recorded two RBI and Aaron Brady had the game-winning RBI in the sixth. Gunnar Thompson and Alex Schieck both had strong pitching performances for the Captains. For East, Tim O’Rourke was 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI. Waterford Kettering is now 1-1 overall and South Lyon East is 0-1 overall.

- West Bloomfield 4-10, Ortonville Brandon 3-0 - At Ortonville, for West Bloomfield, Jason Young pitched four innings striking out six with zero earned runs. Cam Gorney recorded the win.

Softball

- Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 9-8, Rochester Adams 2-1 - At Pontiac, In the first game, Caeley Gleason pitched a complete game giving up just five hits, one earned run, one walk and six strikeouts. At the dish, Gleason went 2-for-3 with a double and three runs scored. Maddie McClune recorded a double and a triple and Kara Thornton had a single and an RBI. Rebecca Petrella hit a double. Paige Greenwell went 2-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base. Kacey Edmonds went 2-for-4 with a double with a run scored and two RBI. Lauren Koenig went 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and an RBI. In the second six inning game, Gleason pitched a five-hitter giving up just one run and recording three strikeouts. On offense, she went 3-for-3 with a double and a home run. Koenig added a pairs of hits, including a double and Edmonds added two more hits for ND Prep (4-0).

- Wixom St. Catherine of Siena 11-15, Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes 0-3 – At Wixom, In the first game, Maddie Compagna had a one-hit shutout effort in the circle and Lizzie Turek hit a game-ending grand slam for the Stars. In the second game, Morgan Schimeck and Caroline Hewer recorded eight RBI between the pair. Anna Barsh recorded multiple RBI in the second inning. Megan Cermak recorded the win in the circle for the Stars.

- Madison Heights Lamphere 15, Warren Fitzgerald 5 - At Madison Heights, Julia Roell, Elissia Vecerre, Rachael Schworn, Jensyn Shaw, Sarah Barrett, Ashley McKegney, Shaylia Richardson and Sarah McGinnis recorded key hits. Allison Hesse and Alexis Wark recorded a sacrific fly that scored runs for Lamphere. Leeanna Radick recorded the win in the circle and Rachael Schworn got the save.

- Walled Lake Western 9, Novi 7 – At Novi, Ryliegh Perry went 3-for-4 with three RBI and a run scored. Lauren Dillon had two hits and scored two runs Rhiannon Esshaki pitched a complete game for Western (1-0). Anna Mizerowski had two hits and scored a run for Novi. Western will return to action on Monday, April 10 at Pinckney.

- Novi 15, West Bloomfield 4 (From Tuesday) - Megan Medendorp recorded four hits, including a double that saw the Wildcats jump past the Lakers. Allison Purtell recorded a home run and multiple hits. Ashley Yarberry, Ally Cummings, Jaime Gustitus, Sophie Rallis, Anna Mizerowski each recorded multiple hits for Novi. The trio of Cummings, Medendorp and Purtell drove in three runs apiece. Gustitus recorded the win in the circle as she pitched four innings, gave up seven hits, four runs and had three strikeouts.

Girls Soccer

- Madison Heights Lamphere 8, Warren Fitzgerald 0 – At Warren, Kalani Clark and Ava Riley had two goals. Alexa Reinbold, Lindsey Smith, Lauren Mexico and Destiny Carr added a goal. Allison Berger added three assists. Tatum Morrow recorded the shutout for Lamphere.

- Clawson 6, Sterling Heights 1 – At Clawson, Raquel Lewis, Alexis Whisnant and Jackie Hauser netted goals for Clawson.

- Bloomfield Hills 4, Lapeer 0 - At Bloomfield Hills, Sam Ferry and Lucy Appel scored one goal each and Christina Hickson added two goals for Bloomfield Hills (2-0).

- South Lyon 1, Milford 1 – At Milford, Kylie Davis scored a goal for South Lyon. Abby Caterina scored a goal and Reghan Lanfear had an assist for Milford.

- Troy 4, Royal Oak 0 (From Tuesday) – Alex Lillie, Emma Hagen, Tahra Brodbine and Steph O’Keefe scored a goal. Lindsey Bolas recorded the shutout for Troy (1-0-0). Troy will return back to action on Tuesday, April 11 against Birmingham Marian.

Girls Tennis

- Royal Oak 6, Madison Heights Bishop Foley 2 – At Madison Heights, Elle Ward and Katie Bristow grab singles wins at one and three singles respectively for the Ventures.

Boys Lacrosse

- Milford 12, Walled Lake Western 9 - At Walled Lake, Brendan Thelen scored six goals. Andrew Simonich added a pair of goals and Danny Yates added a goal for Milford. Dakota Racine made 16 saves.

- Lake Orion 12, Okemos 2 – At Lake Orion, Chris French had four goals. Scout Ciora had two goals. Sam Dutton had one goal and two assists for Lake Orion (3-0). Okemos (0-3). Lake Orion will face Troy Athens after action continues from the spring break.

- Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 11, Stoney Creek 6 – At Rochester Hills, Ryan Genord scored four goals and grabbed two assists. Danny Caton had four points on the night and Jonathon Chabot added a pair of goals. Victor Wagner, Lorenzo Minaudo, Remy Baumgart and Joe Mervenne each added a goal for ND Prep (2-2). The Irish face Monroe St. Mary on Saturday.

- Bloomfield Hills 9, Stoney Creek 3 (From Tuesday) - Paul Mucci scored three goals. Bryce Gutowsky added two goals and an assist. Eddie Dyla, Devon Lynch, Max Levine and Ibu Ansari each added a goal for the Black Hawks. Seth Wilson created a pair of turnovers and Bradley Griffen collected five ground balls (3-0). The team resumes action against Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett on Thursday.

- T.J. Verner, Clawson baseball - Verner went 2-for-4 with two walks, and two runs scored as Clawson recorded a 17-9 victory over Warren Fitzgerald on Wednesday.

- Caeley Gleason, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep softball – Gleason pitched a pair of complete games and went 5-for-6 on the day with two doubles, three runs scored and an RBI as ND Prep recorded 9-2 and 8-1 wins over Rochester Adams on Wednesday.

- Christina Hickson, Bloomfield Hills girls soccer - Hickson scored a pair of goals in a 4-0 win over Lapeer on Wednesday,

- Chris French, Lake Orion boys lacrosse - French scored four goals as Lake Orion crushed Okemos 12-2 on Wednesday.
