TROY - Austin Sultzbach dealt a two-hit shutout and struck out seven on the mound while contributing a double on offense and Troy Athens topped Berkley, 6-0, in district-opening baseball action Tuesday.

Joey Stark also delivered a two-run single and finished the day with two runs scored for Athens, which will face Warren Mott in Saturday’s Division 1 district semifinal.

- Lakeland 3, Fenton 2 - At Hartland, Cass Phillips earned the win in relief on the mound, Grant Smith scored the winning run while also supplying two RBI and Tyler Cleasby and Bret Lingenfelter each had two hits for Lakeland, which advances to face Hartland in Saturday’s Division 1 district semifinal.

- Waterford Mott 6, Oxford 2 - At Oxford, Noah Scyzoryk pitched a complete game for Mott, which advances to face Rochester Adams in Saturday’s Division 1 district semifinal.

- Clarkston Everest Collegiate 18, Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes 1 (6 Innings) - At Independence Township, Grant Burgess pitched a complete-game three-hitter to earn the win in the mound while also going 2-for-3 with an RBI at the plate, Alex Legg was 3-for-3 with two RBI, Ryan Smith added three hits and Mitchell Rozwadowski finished 2-for-3 with three RBI for Everest Collegiate (7-26), which advances to meet Dryden in Saturday’s Division 4 district semifinal.

- Royal Oak Shrine 8, Center Line 2 - At Center Line, Shrine’s Cam Eckert was 3-for-3 with an RBI. Malachi Flood was 1-for-2 with two RBI. Jack Salerno was 2-for-4 with an RBI and Andrew Jaeger was 1-for-3 at the plate and tallied the win on the mound for Shrine (24-10). Center Line is 25-7.

- Stoney Creek 9-6, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 6-1 - At Pontiac, in the opener, Tyler Koch allowed one hit in 2 and ⅓ innings in relief to earn the win on the mound and Trevor Huntsinger tallied a two-run single for Stoney Creek, while Kory Czajkowski was 2-for-3 with two RBI, Andrew Carpenter finished 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and Ryan Knutson was 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored for Notre Dame Prep. In the second game, Stoney Creek’s Trevor Dean threw a complete game in allowing one earned run on nine hits and striking out three on the mound and Anthony Miller was 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Cougars. For Notre Dame Prep (13-22), Carpenter supplied a pair of hits and a run scored and Ben Mancini was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

- Troy 11-4, Birmingham Seaholm 1-9 - At Troy, in the five-inning opener, Cameron Mercer totaled three doubles, two RBI and two runs scored and Connor Wilson finished 2-for-3 with a walk and two runs scored for Troy. In the nightcap, Jake Dietz went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBI and Max King was 2-for-4 with an RBI for Seaholm, while Carter Scillion and Jake Soules both were 2-for-4 for Troy (8-26).

- Walled Lake Central 0, Novi Franklin Road Christian 0 - At Walled Lake Central, the game ended in a tie. Franklin Road Christian’s starting pitcher, Nick Uchezky, went seven innings, giving up four hits and a walk while tallying five strikeouts. Walled Lake Central’s Christian Hakim was 2-for-3 with two singles. Novi Franklin Road Christian is 15-7-1.

- Auburn Hills Avondale 3-11, Clinton Township Chippewa Valley 2-10 - At Auburn Hills, in the eight-inning opener, Chris Andrus finished 1-for-3 with a run scored, Brad Kavka was 1-for-3 with an RBI and Brennan Down was the winning pitcher in dealing 3 and ⅔ innings and allowing two hits. In the second game, Kavka went 1-for-3 and supplied the game-winning, two-run hit, Travis Janes was 2-for-4 with a run scored and Justin Van Acker finished 2-for-2 with two RBI for Avondale (29-8).

- (From Saturday) At Bay City, Birmingham Groves finished 0-2 on the day at a tournament at Bay City John Glenn to snap a 10-game winning streak. Zavier Warren went 3-for-3 and Connor Bradbury added a triple for Groves (29-9) in the second game, which was a 4-1 loss against Gaylord.


- Troy Athens 1, Berkley 0 - At Troy, Lanie Ellinger dealt a complete-game, four-hit shutout in which she struck out 14, Rylee Griffiths went 2-for-3 and scored the game’s only run and Katie Kosnak went 1-for-2 for Athens (19-15), which advances to face Warren Mott in Saturday’s Division 1 district semifinal.

- Oxford 7, Waterford Mott 0 - At Oxford, Hannah Vachon earned the win in the circle, as she allowed one hit and struck out eight in five innings pitched while tallying two hits and a pair of RBI on offense, Kaitlyn Bean dealt two hitless innings in relief, Lauren Donaldson went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Logan Medel added two hits and an RBI and Alex Brown and McKenzie Miller each chipped in with a hit and an RBI for Oxford, which will face Rochester Adams in Saturday’s Division 1 district semifinal.

- Novi Franklin Road Christian 4, Southfield Christian 0 - At Novi, Kayla Nannoshi pitched seven innings in tallying five strikeouts and added a two-RBI single to the cause while Danielle Fusco was 2-for-2 with an RBI. Defensively, left fielder Audrey Govan contributed a diving catch and an over-the-shoulder catch for Franklin Road Christian (12-4 overall and 8-1 in MIAC Red). Southfield Christian is 9-1 in MIAC Red.

- Rochester Adams 1, Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest 0 - At Rochester Hills, in a non-league game, Madison Macy went 2-for-3 at the plate and pitched all seven innings, allowing one unearned run on five hits, walking one and striking out nine in the circle for Lutheran Northwest (23-6).

- North Farmington 12-6, Troy 1-5 - At Farmington Hills, in the five-inning opener, which was a continuation of a previous suspended game, Sam Cherney threw a one-hit shutout and tallied three strikeouts in the circle and also went 3-for-4 with two RBI on offense, Mara Sczecienski was 2-for-3 with two RBI and Drew Edwards finished 2-for-3 with a pair of RBI for North Farmington. In the nightcap, Sarah Fish capped the Raiders’ two-run rally in the bottom of the seventh with a game-winning single, winning pitcher Lex Cherney went 4-for-4 at the plate and Fish was 2-for-4 with two RBI in the game for North Farmington (18-12 overall, 6-6 OAA Red).

- Plymouth 1, Farmington Hills Mercy 0 (From Saturday) - At Farmington Hills, Nicole Belans, Sophia Van Acker and Abby Krzywiecki each had a hit for Mercy as it suffered just is second loss of the season.

- Farmington Hills Mercy 8, Howell 5 (From Saturday) - At Farmington Hills, Anna Dixon had three hits and Andrea Elmore, Nicole Belans and Sophia Van Acker each added two hits for Mercy.

- Farmington Hills Mercy 13-7, South Lyon East 2-4 (From Thursday) - At South Lyon, in game one, Abby Krzywiecki drove in four runs while Cari Padula had three RBI and Anna Dixon and Andrea Elmore each had two RBI for Mercy. In the second game, Krzywiecki again drove in four runs for Mercy while Padula chipped in with two RBI.

- Madison Heights Bishop Foley 9, Southfield Christian 1 - At Madison Heights, Taylor Barry assisted on a goal by Shannon Jones to tie the score at 1-1 early for Southfield Christian, which finishes with a record of 5-8-1.

- Holly 4, Clio 0 - At Holly, Kristin Hansel scored twice and Amy Scruggs and Kaitlyn Spring each added a goal apiece for Holly (9-13), which advances to face Flint Kearsley in the next round of the playoffs.

- Walled Lake Central 1, Milford 0 - At Highland, in district-opening action, Lauren Wasiak scored the lone goal assisted by Amanda Britain and Morgan Britain made six saves in net for Central.

- Utica Eisenhower 2, Rochester 1 - Jillian Winarski and Emma Campbell each scored a first-half goal for Eisenhower, while Maria Broecker connected on a second-half penalty kick for Rochester.

- Wixom St Catherine’s of Siena 8, Lutheran Westland 0 - At Westland, Mary Herrmann collected three goals, Bianca Ivezaj added two goals and an assist and Alexa Rastigue, Sofia Iaquinto and Jaidyn Bozyk all added a goal apiece for St. Catherine’s.

Girls Lacrosse

- Bloomfield Hills 15, Birmingham Marian 9 - At West Bloomfield, Claire Kelly and Olivia D’Angelo each tallied four goals and an assist, Amanda Bearden and Grace Dillon both added two goals apiece and Sarah Holmes made nine saves in goal for Bloomfield Hills, which advances to meet Birmingham Unified in Friday’s regional final.

- Grant Burgess, Clarkston Everest Collegiate baseball - Burgess dealt a three-hitter in going all six innings on the mound and added a pair of hits and an RBI on offense to help lift Everest Collegiate past Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes, 18-1, in playoff-opening action Tuesday.

- Lanie Ellinger, Troy Athens softball - Ellinger struck out 14 in dealing a complete-game, four-hit shutout in the circle to help lift Athens past Berkley, 1-0, in a playoff opener Tuesday.

- Hannah Vachon, Oxford softball - Vachon allowed one hit in five innings pitched and also struck out eight to earn the win in the circle as Oxford topped Waterford Mott, 7-0, to open the playoffs Tuesday. She contributed two hits and a pair of RBI on offense.

- Madison Macy, Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest softball - Macy collected two hits on offense and allowed one unearned run on five hits, as well as walking one and striking out nine in pitching a complete game in the circle as Lutheran Northwest fell against Rochester Adams, 1-0, in regular season action Tuesday.
