BEVERLY HILLS - Mike MacLean tallied three hits and one RBI in both games of a doubleheader as he helped Birmingham Detroit Country Day register a sweep of Novi Franklin Road Christian in baseball action Saturday.

In the opener, which Country Day won 11-5, Will Krushena went 4-for-4 with two doubles and four RBI, Tanner Greve was 3-for-4 with an RBI and Devin Beach pitched 5 and 2-3 innings with two walks and three strikeouts in giving up no hits and no earned runs to record the win on the mound for Country Day.

The Yellowjackets took the nightcap, 3-1, and in that game, Andrew Toma pitched a complete game with one earned run, three walks and seven strikeouts, Krushena finished 3-for-4 with a triple and Aaron Benson went 2-for-2 for Country Day (23-5).

- Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 3, Madison Heights Bishop Foley 1 - At Livonia, In the C-D semifinal game, Andrew Carpenter had an RBI single. Kory Czajkowski scored the game-winning RBI. ND Prep got out of a bases loaded jam and recorded the game ending double play in the seventh inning. Sophomore Matt Pezolt (4-2) pitched a complete game with seven walks and seven strikeouts. Foley swept the regular season series against Pontiac NDP (11-17, 7-13). Justin Campbell took the loss for Bishop Foley (16-4 CHSL). Prep will face Riverview Gabriel Richard on Thursday at Comerica Park at 10 a.m.

- Rochester 4-8, Fraser 3-4 - At Rochester, in the first eight inning game, Jacob Jackson went 2-for-3 with two RBI. Lucas Castran went 2-for-3 with two RBI and scored the game-winner in the bottom of the eighth inning on a walk-off single. Ben Morrow pitched four innings to record the win in relief. In the second game, Drew Loftus recorded two hits and two RBI. Kyle Matynka had two RBI. Nick Stepke had two hits, two RBI and pitched six innings in the win for Rochester (17-16).

- Livonia Churchill 5-5, Walled Lake Central 3-11 - Richard Erpelding went 4-for-5 with four RBI. Cooper Dundas went 1-for-1 with two RBI. Drew Temple, Jimi Kandah, Christian Hakim and Jacob Downey all had two hits each. Jim Kandah recorded the win in game two of the doubleheader for WL Central.

- Lakeland played in a tournament and in the first game lost to Northville 4-3. Bren Kubik went 2-for-3 with a double and three RBI. In the second game, Lakeland defeated Novi 2-1. Bret Lingenfelter pitched a complete game with one unearned run and six strikeouts. Offensively, he went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Cody Zawada charged a ball in the outfield off of a single to throw out the final runner at home plate for Lakeland (21-12).

- Birmingham Groves 12-21, Berkley 5-6 - At Berkley, in the opener, Connor Bradbury was 3-for-3 with a double, four RBI and a run scored, Michael Pastoria and Nate Higley went 2-for-2 with a double, an RBI and a run scored apiece, Andrew Martin pitched 3 and 2-3 innings of scoreless relief and Ryan Laub was the winning pitcher for Groves, while Tim McKelvey was 3-for-3 for Berkley. In the six-inning finale, Chaise Ford finished 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and four runs scored, John Kowalchuk added a single, two doubles, a triple, five RBI and four runs scored, Xavier Warren finished 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, two RBI and three runs scored, Joe Roberts tallied two doubles, three RBI and three runs scored, Max Novick supplied four hits and four RBI, Max Whalen was 2-for-5 with a double and four RBI and Higley totaled two singles, a double and two runs scored for Groves (27-7). Ryan DiCarlo homered and Zach Gregorich finished 2-for-3 for Berkley.

- Auburn Hills Oakland Christian 4, Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest 2 - At Auburn Hills, Richard Steffan pitched a complete game to earn the win on the mound for Oakland Christian.

- Plymouth 12, North Farmington 0 - At Plymouth, Plymouth earned the victory.

- Plymouth 9, Farmington Hills Harrison 5 - At Plymouth, Plymouth picked up the win.

Softball

- Novi Franklin Road Christian 14, Wixom St. Catherine of Siena 13 – At Wixom, Colleen Fader, Kelly Liszewski and Rachel Johnston each scored two runs. Johnston recorded three hits including a double. Caroline Hewer added a double for the Stars.

- Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest 17-13, Dryden 0-4 - At Dryden, on the day, Rebecca Johnstone picked up two wins in the circle, scattering three hits and no runs over 10 innings pitched and racking up 12 strikeouts in the circle while also finishing 6-for-8 with three doubles and six RBI on offense, and Madison Macy went 4-for-5 with three RBI also on the day. In the five-inning opener, Grace VanDellen was 3-for-4 with two RBI, and in the finale, Emily LaGrand finished 2-for-4 with two RBI for Lutheran Northwest (22-5).

- Troy Athens 3, Traverse City West 0 - At Traverse City, Ashley Leonard scored two goals. Lindsey Boots added a goal. Silvanna Mancini, Alexis Rogers and Heidi Berschbach added an assist. Amanda Harris and Katie Prebelich helped record the shutout in net for Athens.

- Troy Athens 6, Traverse City Central 0 – At Traverse City, Silvanna Mancini scored four goals. Ashley Leonard and Lindsey Boots scored a goal and had an assist. Hayley Rauser added an assist. Amanda Harris and Katie Prebelich split time in net for the shutout for Athens.

- Troy Athens 3, Petoskey 0 – At Traverse City, Lindsey Boots, Aubreigh Wachowksi and Elyse Merbach scored a goal. Kelsey Malven, Hannah Burchi and Hannah Schell recorded an assist. Amanda Harris and Katie Prebelich split time in net for the shutout for Athens.

Boys Lacrosse

- Hartland 11, Grand Rapids Forest Hills Eastern 7 - (From Friday) At Hartland, Sam Highland registered five goals and two assists, Garnet Potter added two tallies and five assists, Jake Gallaher supplied a goal and two assists and Maveric Muscat had a goal and an assist for Hartland.

Boys Track and Field

- At Westland, Southfield Christian placed fifth with 68 points at a Division 4 regional meet at Lutheran Westland. The Eagles qualified nine individuals for the state finals. Top finishers for Southfield Christian were Bryce Washington, who placed first in the High Jump with a jump of 6-3. David Robinson took fourth in the High Jump with a score of 5-11. C.J. Roberson took fourth in the Shot Put 41-1. Donald Keating, Jonathan Sullivan, Mark Harting and Max Vowles finished in third place of the 3200 Relay with a time of 8:41 to qualify under the state time. Josh Simms, David Robinson, Jonathan Sullivan, and Elijah Hicks finished in third place of the 800 Relay. Rodger Johnson (3rd, 400 Dash, 53:02) just missed the state cut. Jonathan Sullivan, Keating, Robinson, Johnson qualified for the state meet in the 1600 Relay for the Eagles.

Girls Track and Field

- At Westland, Southfield Christian placed second with 117 points at a Division 4 regional meet at Lutheran Westland. Lutheran Westland took first overall with a score of 127. Top finishers for Southfield Christian were Kaelin Ray, who took first in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 16.85, first in the 300 Hurdles with a 47.95 and second in the High Jump with a jump of 4-8, Chika Amene, who took first in the 400 Dash with a 1:01.46 and first in the 200 Dash with a 26.7, the winning 800 Relay team of Shelby Goodson, Skylar Reynolds, Makayla Davenport and Amene, which finished with a 1:50.39, the winning 1600 Relay team, Goodson, who took second in the 100 Dash, the second-placed 3200 Relay team of Grace Allan, Grace McFerrin, Holly Smith and Maurgan Lee, the second-placed 400 Relay team of Lydia Horrigan, Goodson, Reynolds and Madisyn Williams, which finished in 54.6, McFerrin, who finished third in the 400 Dash with a 1:08, and Alexis Mitchell, who placed fourth in Shot Put with a throw of 25-6 ¼.

- (From Friday) At Erie, Wixom St. Catherine’s finished in eighth place out of 19 teams at a Division 3 regional meet at Erie-Mason by scoring 34 points. Top finishers for St. Catherine’s were Sydney Hodges, who placed second in the 100 Hurdles with a time of 17.29 and fifth in the 300 Hurdles with a 52.51, Shannon Ryan, who placed fourth in the 400 Dash with a time of 1:04.88 and fourth as well in the 800 Dash with a 2:04.83, the sixth-placed 3200 Relay team of Ann Borek, Ella Dolowy, Bridget Dolowy and Alex Wyeth, Alex Worth, who placed sixth in the 800 Run with a 2:38.33, Bridget Dolowy, who took sixth in the 3200 Run with a 13:00.06, Wyeth, who finished seventh in the 3200 Run with a 13:03.25, and Katie Bloomer, who took eighth in the Shot Put with a throw of 26-5.

- John Kowalchuk, Birmingham Groves baseball - Kowalchuk went 5-for-5 with four doubles and a triple in the second game of a doubleheader as Groves recorded the twinbill sweep over Berkley 12-5 and 21-6 respectively on Saturday.

- Rebecca Johnstone, Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest softball – Johnstone picked up two wins in the circle, scattering three hits and no runs over 10 innings pitched and racking up 12 strikeouts. Offensively, she finished 6-for-8 with three doubles and six RBI as Northwest recorded a doubleheader sweep 17-0 and 13-4 respectively on Saturday.

- Silvanna Mancini, Troy Athens girls soccer - Mancini had four goals and an assists to lead Athens to a 3-0 day in the Traverse City Invitational on Saturday.
