BIRMINGHAM - In baseball action, Michael Pastoria went 2-for-3 with a walk as Birmingham Groves used a solid team effort to record an 8-2 victory over Berkley on Wednesday.

Groves recorded a seven run third inning and had 20 different players see action on the field. Leo Dudas recorded the win on the mound with a scoreless three-inning effort. Dudas, Ryan Laub, Andre Nailing recorded scoreless innings for Groves (1-0). Berkley (0-1).

- Birmingham Detroit Country Day 17, Clawson 2 - At Birmingham, John Malcolm went 3-for-3 with a grand slam, double and six RBI. Mike MacLean went 1-for-2 with a double and three RBI. Tommy Young went 2-for-2 with a double and two RBI for Country Day (2-0). Clawson (1-1).

- Bloomfield Hills 3, Waterford Mott 0 - At Bloomfield Hills, Cameron Greer had a pair of hits including a double. Patrick Najor pitched a complete game with three hits and six strikeouts for Bloomfield Hills (2-0). Waterford Mott (2-1).

- Auburn Hills Avondale 6, Utica Ford 0 - At Auburn Hills, Matt Moy dealt four innings, allowing no runs on two hits and striking out two to earn the win on the mound, Jake Pershern went 2-for-3, Travis Janes was 1-for-4 with a triple and an RBI and Connor Gubariu finished 1-for-2 with an RBI for Avondale (2-0).

- Detroit U-D Jesuit 5-1, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep 2-4 - At Pontiac, Jack Krausmann was the winning pitcher as he went went three innings giving up one run in relief, Will Gurzik had an RBI single and Luke Zerona had a two-run single in the third inning for Pontiac NDP in the nightcap. U-D Jesuit had a three run rally in the ninth in the first game.

- Walled Lake Northern 10, Grand Blanc 0 (5 innings) – At Walled Lake, Devin Hager pitched a shutout giving up just one hit and striking out five batters on the mound. Hager went 1-for-3 with a walk and an RBI at the plate. Nick Powell went 1-for-2 with a walk, three runs scored and three stolen bases and an RBI. Jake Frelich recorded a hit and two runs scored. Zack Northcott and Jon Friend also had an RBI and Ryan Tunkl went 1-for-1 with a run scored for Northern (1-0).

- Orchard Lake St. Mary’s 12, Rochester 7 – At Rochester, Griffin Sheposh went 2-for-3 with two walks, two run scored and two RBI. Mason Vaughan went 2-for-5 with a double, a triple and four RBI. Bruce Kudela went 2-for-3 and added three RBI. Harrison Salter went 2-for-4 with a double for OLSM (2-0). Tyler Frankhouse went 1-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBI for Rochester (0-1).

Softball

- Clawson 6, Royal Oak Shrine 4 - At Clawson, Maddie Sparks pitched a complete game with five strikeouts. On offense, she also had two hits and two RBI. Aly Orville recorded two hits and an RBI. Ariana Inez added a hit and two RBI in the fifth inning to ultimately seal the win for Clawson (1-2). Shrine (0-1).

- Novi 10, West Bloomfield 0 (5 Innings) - At Novi, Ashley Yarberry hit a two-run home run, Hope Kapelanski added a double and a triple, Jaime Gustitus chipped in with two hits and Madison Budde allowed two hits on the mound for Novi (1-0). West Bloomfield falls to 0-3.

- Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest 9, Birmingham Seaholm 7 – At Rochester Hills, Sara Seemann went 3-for-4 with four RBI. Madison Macy went 2-for-3 with an RBI and recorded the win in the circle. Rebecca Olenski went 1-for-1 with an RBI and three runs scored Northwest (1-0). Reagan Hurd went 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI for Seaholm (0-1).

Girls Soccer

- Pontiac 8, Madison Heights Madison 0 - At Pontiac, Virginia Herrera finished with six goals and two assists, Leslie Ortiz added a goal and five assists and Kattie Romero earned the shutout in goal for Pontiac. Virginia Herrera had six goals and two assists, Leslie Ortiz had a goal and six assists and Kattie Romero three saves and a shutout in net for Pontiac (1-0).

- Clawson 7, Warren Fitzgerald 0 - At Warren, Amy Boldt had a pair of goals and an assist. Raquel Lewis grabbed a goal and two assists. Alexis Whisnant scored two goals. Sally Abdella added a goal.

- Bloomfield Hills 5, Birmingham Groves 0 – At Birmingham, Jennifer Miller scored two goals. Karmyn Carter, Christina Hickson and Sam Ferry scored a goal. Molly Efros recorded the win in net for Bloomfield Hills (3-0-0). Groves (0-1-2).

- Jennifer Miller, Bloomfield Hills girls soccer - Miller scored a pair of goals that pushed Bloomfield Hills to a 5-0 victory over Birmingham Groves on Wednesday.
