BIRMINGHAM – The Birmingham Brother Rice lacrosse team claimed its 10th straight MHSAA regional championship on Friday night, picking up a 16-4 win over Troy High School.

The Warriors started fast and never looked back, establishing a 13-0 halftime lead on the Colts.

Joe Dudley had five goals to lead Brother Rice while Jason Alessi tallied four scores. Joe Plaskey carried the Warriors’ defense, picking up two takeaways. Ross Reason had 12 saves in net for Brother Rice.

The Warriors move to 17-4 on the season with the win and they will now meet U-D Jesuit in the state semifinals. Brother Rice defeated the Cubs 16-1 back on April 1.

Troy ends its season with a 16-5 record.
