Three track and field teams from two counties converged at Lamphere High School Wednesday afternoon.

Meeting in Madison Heights were the host Rams, Hazel Park and Mount Clemens.

Lamphere and Mount Clemens are members of the Macomb Area Conference Silver Division. Hazel Park competes in the Oakland Activities Associationís Gold Division.

All three schools are gearing up for regional meets that will be held later in the week.

Lamphere and Hazel Park are both involved in Division 2 regionals. The Rams will compete at South Lyon East, while Hazel Park will be at Regina. Mount Clemens is at the Division 3 region at Lutheran North in Macomb Township.

The top two finishers in each event at the regionals will advance to the state meet. Also advancing will be athletes who, although they do not finish first or second in an event, meet state qualifying standards.

All of the state meets will be run on Saturday, May 31. The Division 1 meet will be at Rockford High School. The Division 2 competition is run on the Houseman Track in Grand Rapids. In Division 3, the meet will be at Comstock Park. The Division 4 event will be held in the Hudsonville Athletic Complex (Baldwin Middle School).
