1. Haley Zemmer, Troy Athens Sr. P – Signed with Oakland University, Zemmer is a two-way force who can dominate both at the plate and on the pitching rubber. She hit .496 with six HR and 52 RBI last season and can rack up strikeouts when she has her best stuff.

2. Sydney Heath, Troy Sr. CF – Played high school ball for the first time last year and showed why she was so talented at the sport, batting .486 with 30 RBI and 20 SB. She has signed with Michigan State, whom she committed to before last season’s first year of high school ball.

3. Jessie Mehr, South Lyon Sr. INF – Still worthy of being ranked even though she might miss the entire season after having labrum surgery in February. There is a chance she can come back for the playoffs, which would be huge for the Lions. She batted .521 with seven HR and 25 RBI last year.

4. Madison Burgess, Lakeland Sr. OF – Will be important not only for her production, but her leadership of what overall is a very young Lakeland team. Signed with Saginaw Valley State, Burgess batted .512 with 21 RBI and 45 SB.

5. Rachel Vieira, Clarkston Jr. INF – Should be a fun player to watch for the next two years. Coming off an outstanding sophomore season where she batted .508 with four HR, 49 RBI and 38 runs in being named first team all-state.

6. Megan Keller, North Farmington Sr. SS – One of the top young female youth hockey players in the nation who is on the U.S. under-18 team, Keller is also a terrific softball player. Has a .484 career batting average and will be nearly impossible to get out.

7. Alex Sobczak, Farmington Hills Mercy Jr. INF – Sobczak produced one of the best hitting seasons in recent memory last year, batting an incredible .613 with 17 HR and 58 RBI. Her home run total was the second-best in state history and she still has two years of high school ball left.

8. Abby Krzywiecki, Farmington Hills Mercy Soph. 1B/P – It’s hard to believe Krzywiecki can do any better than her freshman year, but if she does that will be a horrible sight for opponents. Batted .419 with nine HR and 33 RBI at the plate and went 10-1 with a 1.57 ERA on the rubber.

9. Alex Carpenter, Lake Orion Jr. 3B – Terrific table-setter who is coming off a season where she batted .443 with 51 runs scored. Also an outstanding defensive third baseman.

10. Sydney Jones, South Lyon East Sr. P – Four-year varsity player three-sport athlete who will be an all-state candidate in the circle.

11. Riley Miller, Birmingham Seaholm Sr. C – As complete of a softball player as there is in the county, Miller has signed with Detroit Mercy. She batted .434 with 33 RBI and a .492 on-base percentage last season.

12. Cori Mittelbrun, Troy Sr. P/U – A do everything player for the Colts who will be a top-of-the-order hitter likely will be the team’s ace pitcher after Taylor Schmidt moved to Florida after last year. Doesn’t throw as hard as Schmidt, but mixes pitches well and throws strikes.

13. Nikki Wald, North Farmington Sr. 3B – Another four-year player for the Raiders who has excelled ever since she was a freshman. Batted .460 last season.

14. Jordan Ewald, Farmington Hills Mercy Sr. SS – Big run producer in a Mercy lineup that produces lots of them and also might be the team’s most valuable defender along the infield.

15. Kennedi Thomas, Lake Orion Sr. OF – A valuable leader on what it is a talented young Lake Orion team. Signed with Saginaw Valley State, Thomas hit .398 with 43 RBI last season.

16. Jen Semaan, Stoney Creek Sr. SS – Power-hitting force who tore up the OAA Blue last season and could do the same to the OAA White this year. She batted .523 with six home runs and 45 RBI with an. 844 slugging percentage last year.

17. Kayla Knoblock, Lake Orion Sr. OF – Was arguably the most fearsome bat in a loaded Lake Orion lineup last year, batting .462 with 50 RBI.

18. Karissa Gawronski, Lakeland Sr. INF – Veteran standout who should be one of the hardest outs in the KLAA and an all-state candidate.

19. Rachel Dolland, Lake Orion Jr. SS – Another big bat in the Lake Orion lineup, Dolland hit .442 with 42 RBI in 2013.

20. Alexa Cherney, North Farmington Soph. P – Made more than just an immediate impact as a freshman last year, given she was one of the area’s best pitchers regardless of class. Went 21-9 with 12 shutouts, a 1.60 ERA and 233 K’s in 182 IP last season.

21. Hanna Bullard, Pontiac Notre Dame Prep Jr. C – Big run producer on offense and also a rock behind the plate for the Fighting Irish. Was named honorable mention all-state last year after batting .374 with 46 RBI.

22. Sierra Gonzales, Lake Orion Soph. P – Coming off an outstanding freshman season that saw her go 22-2.

23. Kelly McCasland, Rochester Adams Jr. P – Good two-way player who will log plenty of innings and gaudy offensive stats in the OAA White. Coming off a season where she batted .457 with 23 RBI.

24. Makenzie Nieto, South Lyon East Soph. INF – Coming off an impactful freshman season that saw her be named the team’s MVP.

25. Candace Kitchen, Clarkston Jr. U/P – The definition of versatile, Kitchen can play just about every position on the field for the Wolves. Was an all-state player last season.
