MADISON HEIGHTS - First-year foe or no first-year foe, Bishop Foley wasn't going to make life easy on its rival, Royal Oak Shrine.

The Ventures struck hard early and kept the pressure on the Knights in their 15-6 victory Tuesday night.

Senior attack Stephen Redding notched a game-high five goals to go along with an assist for Bishop Foley (3-3 overall, 1-2 Catholic League Division 2). Junior midfielder Reggie Golfin had four goals (two assists), senior attack Andrew Sturr had two goals (three assists) and freshman Jacob Doxen added two more in the win. Freshmen midfielders Joe Schmidt (assist) and Matt Wilcox each added another for coach Matt Filippis' squad.

Shrine was led by sophomore Colin Miller and freshman Beck Benson, who each tallied two goals in the loss. Chris Kelly and Andrew Scott both had one for coach Dave Misiewicz's first-year team, which falls to 1-5 overall.
