Wednesday's Prep Roundup: South Lyon East routs Waterford Kettering in girls soccer

SOUTH LYON — Julia Palushaj’s three-goal performance sparked South Lyon East to an 8-0 home victory against Waterford Kettering in girls soccer action Wednesday.

Rachel Jankowiak added two goals and Sydney O’Donnell contributed two goals for East (3-0). Kettering is 0-1.

— From Saturday, West Bloomfield went 3-0 to take first place at a tournament at Warren Fitzgerald. The Lakers defeated Warren Woods-Tower, 5-0, Flat Rock, 5-0, and Marine City, 3-0. Knar Topouzian netted five goals on the day for West Bloomfield.



Girls tennis

— From Saturday, Birmingham Seaholm went 3-0 at a quad in Troy, defeating Rochester Adams, 8-0, North Farmington, 9-0, and Troy, 8-0. Against Adams, Labina Petrovska of Seaholm defeated Halle Hyman, 6-1, 6-3, in No. 1 singles and Lauren Frazier of the Maples defeated Marla Seaver, 6-4, 6-0, in No. 2 singles.

— From Saturday, Clarkston and Birmingham Marian both tied for first place with 19 points at a quad at Holly. Holly finished third with eight points, while Allen Park took fourth with two points.



Girls lacrosse

— Birmingham Marian 15, Brighton 14 — At Brighton, Caroline Forester tallied eight goals and Colleen Grombala added five, including the game-winner in overtime, for Marian.

— Grosse Pointe South 20, Oxford 3 — From Saturday, Rosalind Schassburger scored two goals and Madison Barnewold added the other for Oxford (0-1).
