Saturday's Prep Roundup: Clarkston picks up overtime win over Novi in hockey

DETROIT In hockey action, Jacob LaPorte scored the game-winning goal in overtime as Clarkston grabbed a 3-2 victory over Novi on Saturday night. Roman Reiner and Carter Rea also scored for the Wolves and Jack Viazanko made 34 saves (8-3-1). Brendan Wexler and Mark Czapski scored for Novi (6-5-0).

Port Huron 5, KBH United 2 At Flint, Steven Niles and Shawn Larsen scored for United and Tristan Younes made 30 saves (3-5-0).

Auburn Hills Avondale 4, Troy Athens 3 At Troy, Emmett Wagner continued his tremendous season, scoring a pair of goals and assisting on the other, as his team handed the Red Hawks their first loss in OAA White play. Patrick Riedy also scored a pair of goals in the victory. Nikolas Senkowski stopped 38 shots to get the win in goal for the Yellow Jackets.

Dexter 3, Lakeland 1 At Dexter, Nic Fernandez scored for the Eagles, but it wasn't enough at Dexter scored three second-period goals to get the win. Seth Farmer and Joey Blackwell picked up assists on Fernandez's goal.



Boys Basketball

Saginaw Arthur Hill 71, Southfield Christian 56 At Detroit, Damarco White had 13 points and 13 rebounds and Marlo Brown had 13 points and 11 rebounds for the Eagles (3-1).

Holly 74, Ypsilanti Arbor Prep 62 At Saginaw, Jake Daniels had 23 points and three steals. Josh Simms had 14 points and five rebounds and Kyle Woodruff had 15 points, 11 rebounds, three steals and two blocks (4-0, 3-0).

Southfield-Lathrup 65, Flint Carman-Ainsworth 50 At Flint, Frederick John scored 16 points. Jajuan Johnson and Jalen Thomas scored 12 points for Lathrup (1-3).
