Friday's Prep Roundup: Ferndale University Prep remains unbeaten with win over Groves

BIRMINGHAM — Remaining undefeated in the early stages of the boys basketball season, Ferndale University Prep earned a 74-59 win over Birmingham Groves Friday night.

In an evenly distributed game, Anthony Martin led the Eagles (2-0) with 17 points. John Moore added 16 points, and Jason Penn scored 12 points. Justin Penn and David Noman each scored 11 points.

— Rochester Hills Christian 82 Faith Davidson 67 — At Rochester Hills, Marqueze Hatcher led Rochester Hills Christian (7-0) with 30 points and five steals. Josh Steiner chipped in with a double-double of 19 points, and 12 rebounds, while Jared Brown collected 11 points, and five steals.

— Clawson 60, Madison Heights Madison 39 — At Clawson, Jared Ocampo led Clawson (2-0) with 25 points. Marquian Johnson added a double-double with 10 points, 11 rebounds and five steals, while Chuck Tarver followed up with eight points for the Trojans. Madison (0-2) was led by Jaylin Golson with 17 points, and Davon Payne with eight points.

— South Lyon East 77, Livonia Franklin 51 — At Livonia, Sydney Jones led East (3-1) with a game high 18 points. Gabi Bird followed up with 15 points, while Peyton Jones added 12 points for the Cougars. Franklin was led by Julie Magdowski with 14 points, and Stephanie Evans with 11 Points.

— Birmingham Roeper 52, Birmingham Groves 34 — At Birmingham, Sophia Savas led Roeper (3-1) with 12 points. Alyssa Flynn followed up with ten points, while Akwia Tilton added nine points. Groves (1-3) was led by Madison Meredith with 11 points, and Riley Fox with eight points.

— Novi Franklin Road Christian 61, Taylor Baptist Park 40 — at Taylor, Kristen Massey had 23 points, 11 rebounds and seven assists for Franklin Road (2-2). Betsy Posont scored 14 for Baptist Park. Elise Schmid scored 12 points while Hannah Rayburn had 10 for Franklin Road.

— Ann Arbor Skyline 3, Madison Heights Bishop Foley 0 — At Ann Arbor, Ann Arbor Skyline was led by Cooper Schmunk who recorded two assists on the night for the Eagles. Skyline received a goal in the second period by Jeremy Bourque, and received goals in the third period by Patrick Eahlmann and Reid Tennant.

— Birmingham Brother Rice 4, Brighton 2 — At Birmingham, Bake Bazzi scored two goals and Matt Riggelman and Noah Nitoski scored for Brother Rice (4-2-0).

— Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood 5, Novi Detroit Catholic Central 2 — At Novi, Sam Miletic scored three goals. Austin Alger had a goal and three assists and Christopher Brown had a goal and two assists for Cranbrook. Spencer Applebaum made 27 saves.
