ROCHESTER – The city of Rochester came together today in the fundraiser for “Angels of Hope to Lacrosse out Cancer.” Both boys and girls lacrosse games provided a chance to donate and check out some entertaining matches.

In the girls contest, Rochester was led by Kendall Jordan who scored five goals to help Rochester grab a 17-5 victory over Rochester Adams.

Bella Weick scored three goals. Paige Zundel, Bethany Malinowski and Claire McPherson scored twice. Mary Jindo added a goal for Rochester.

Cora Davis scored two goals. Taylor Dalton, Jordan Reichenbach and Erika Ouchi added a goal for Adams.

In the boys contest, Grant Dewey and Evan Drew scored a pair of goals as Rochester Adams defeated Rochester 9-3.

Will Ronan, Sean Ronan, Everett Beger, Brendan Crites and Scott McLean added a goal for Adams.

Sam Wolfe, Ryan Slank and Griffin Harper scored a goal for Rochester.



Boys Lacrosse

- North Allegheny (PA) 10, Birmingham Unified 9 (2 OT) - At the Midwest Tournament in Ohio, Charlie Schiefer had four goals. Ryan Flaherty had three goals. Brodie Liebler had a goal. Dan Sarkesian had a goal. Unified fought to tie the game up with a minute to go in regulation (6-7).

- Hartland 13, Midland 11 (From Friday) - Mitchell Cotten had four goals and two assists. Garnet Potter had six assists. Reece Potter scored three goals. Jake Gallaher added two goals. Maveric Muscat added a goal and an assist. Scott Wistinghausen, Justin Light and Sam Highland had a goal and an assist.



Girls Lacrosse

- Birmingham Marian 15, Caledonia 10 – At Caledonia, Colleen Grombala scored seven goals. Emily Shanklin scored three goals. Kelly Dugan and Emily Fyre added two goals apiece. Sarah Peterson added a goal for Marian.

- Okemos 11, Birmingham Marian 7 (From Friday) - Sarah Peterson scored four goals. Colleen Grombala scored two goals and Kaylin Meehan added a goal for Marian.



Baseball

- Birmingham Groves played in the Clarkston tournament and won going 3-0 on the day. In the first game Groves defeated Walled Lake Northern 11-3. Max Novick and John Kowalchuk went 3-for-4. Connor Bradbury went 2-for-4. Ryan Laub threw five innings for the win on the mound. Max Whalen threw two innings of perfect relief to close out the game for Groves. In the second game, Groves lost to Clarkston 5-4 in eight innings. Bradbury went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBI. Joe Roberts and Zavier Warren recorded a double. Andre Mailing pitched six innings in the no-decision. He gave up six hits, one earned run, one walk and three strikeouts. In the third game, Groves defeated Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes 11-3. Nate Higley and Brendan Doll went 2-for-4. Doug Roche and Bradbury both recorded a double. Roche also walked, scored three runs and had a pair of RBI. Noah Zacharias threw five innings in the win. Max Zeidman pitched a scoreless two innings to close out the game for Groves (17-5, 6-2 OAA White).

- Oxford 7-6, Utica 2-3 - At Oxford, In the first game, Zak Schwerin went 2-for-2 and reached base four times in the game. Brandon Barrows went 2-for-2. Jack Kitchner pitched a complete game giving up six hits and recorded four strikeouts. In the second game, Justin Allen, Devon Davenport, Braun Mayette, Ben Nuss and Mario Scribner all recorded a hit. Shea Walters pitched five and two thirds innings gave up five hits and recorded three strikeouts. Jared Dymond recorded his first save of the season for Oxford pitching two innings (9-13).

- Farmington hosted the Big 11 Classic. Farmington beat Utica Eisenhower 5-3 in the championship game. Dan Carty went 2-for-4 with the game winning RBI. Elliot Edsall got the save for Farmington, going three innings, two hits, and one run. Farmington (19-4).

- Lakeland 7-4, Rochester Adams 5-8 – At White Lake, Matt McClennen went 3-for-4 with one RBI. Joey Prechtel went 2-for-3 with a run scored. Tyler Wineke went 2-for-4 for Adams. Connor Snell went 1-for-3 with a pair of RBI for Lakeland. In the second game, Anthony Kania went 2-for-3 with three RBI. Spencer Fleming added two RBI. Justin Seablom added two hits. Jack Reno was the starting pitcher going five innings, giving up four runs off four hits. Own Christmas went 1-for-2 with an RBI for Lakeland.

- Waterford Kettering 4-10, Troy 3-6 - At Troy, Henry Mistrzak went 2-for-3 with one run scored, while also pitching a complete game. In the second game, James Brady pitched six innings. Henry Mistrzak had three hits including a three run home run. Riley Ellis had four total hits on the day. Kettering (6-16)

- Auburn Hills Avondale 4-6, Stoney Creek 3-4 - At Auburn Hills, In the first game, Tanner Dean went 1-for-2 with two runs scored for Stoney Creek. Jake Pershern, Parker Travis and Will Fahoome all recorded a hit and an RBI for Avondale. In the second game, Chris Andrus went 2-for-3 with a run scored for Avondale (17-5). Stoney Creek (10-9).

- Orchard Lake St. Mary’s 0-8, Dearborn Divine Child 1-0 – At Orchard Lake, In the first game, Carter Macias threw six innings, with six hits and four strikeouts for OLSM. In the second game, Andrew Malick threw five innings, giving up just three hits and recorded a strikeout. Macias went 1-for-3 with two RBI. Harrison Salter went 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI for OLSM (14-7, 9-5 CHSL).

- Bloomfield Hills 12-18, Southfield 2-2 - At Southfield, Max Mohring had six strikeouts and allowed five hits in the victory in the first game. Matthew Biermann doubled three times and drove in three runs, and Troy Saruna added a single, a triple and four RBI for the winners. In the second game, Foster Stubbs pitched a two-hitter. Dugan Fife had two hits and four RBI and Aaron Schreur added a double, triple and three RBI for Bloomfield Hills (14-7-1). Southfield (9-8).

- Clarkston Everest Collegiate 14-15, Marine City Cardinal Mooney 4-1 - At Clarkston, In the first game, Grant Burgess went 3-for-4 and threw a complete game with six strikeouts. Nino Mastromatteo went 4-for-4 with three RBI. In the second game, Luke Luttinen and Bradley Mansour combined on a one-hitter. Ryan Smith and Mastromatteo went 2-for-3 for Everest (6-11, 5-5 CHSL).

- Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart 12-11, Auburn Hills Oakland Christian 2-1 - At Mt. Pleasant, In the first game, Zach Tison recorded a hit and a run scored and Jesse Seckel had a hit and an RBI for Oakland Christian.Jackson Reetz pitched five innings, giving up just four hits, one walk and five strikeouts. Alex Schafer recorded three hits, with two runs scored and three RBI. Matt Kornexl added a double and two RBI. Cross DeLau singled and scored three runs. Lance MacDonald recorded an RBI triple and Carter Lowe had an RBI double for Mt. Pleasant. In the second game, Tom Washington and Devin Reyes recorded a hit for Oakland Christian (10-7). Kornexl gave up just two hits had a walk and six strikeouts in five innings of work to record the win on the mound. Andy Gruss and Lowe and Lowe had two hits. Patrick Ervin and Kyle Houston recorded a hit for Mt. Pleasant.

- Royal Oak 18-13, Detroit Martin Luther King 4-6 – At Detroit, In the first game, Andrew Holloway pitched five innings gave up four hits, four runs, three walks and six strikeouts. Tom Pagen had four hits and five RBI. Rob DeBastos knocked in three runs and Sean Marshall and Dave Lindeen each had two RBI. In the second game, Hayden Haran was the pitcher of record. Pagen had three RBI. Cam Kollins scored five runs and stole four bases for Royal Oak (14-3).



Softball

- Farmington Hills Mercy played in a tournament held in Monroe and went 2-0 on the day. In the first game, Mercy defeated Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central 1-0. Abby Krzywiecki went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk. Shannon Gibbons, Andrea Elmore and Sophia Van Acker all recorded a hit. Krzywiecki pitched a complete game with one hit, two walks and five strikeouts for Mercy. In the second game, Mercy defeated Unionville-Sebewaing 12-5. Krzywiecki went 2-for-3 with three runs scored, two RBI, a walk and two stolen bases. Van Acker went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Anna Dixon went 2-for-3 with three runs scored and a stolen base. Cari Padula went 1-for-4 with a run scored and two RBI. Mary Reeber went 1-for-1 with a walk and two runs scored. Elmore recorded the win in the circle pitching a complete game, with eight hits, one walk and eight strikeouts for Mercy (20-1).

- In the first game of tournament action at Clarkston, Hartland defeated Caledonia 12-7. Offense was provided by a two-run double by Hannah Mourad, an RBI double by Taylor Miller, an RBI single by Delanie Grundman, and an RBI single by Brianna Robeson. Madelin Skene hit two extra base hits, and in the circle by pitching a complete game with six strikeouts. In the second game, Hartland defeated Swartz Creek 2-1. Anna Kemp pitched eight innings to grab the win for Hartland. In the third game, Hartland defeated Plymouth Salem 10-4. The Eagles scored three runs in the seventh on an RBI single by Amanda Mourad and a two-run single by Hannah Mourad. Hannah provided four hits in the game and had three RBI. Skene once again recorded the win in the circle. She gave up five hits, three walks and struck out six batters in five innings of work. In the championship game, Hartland defeated Clarkston 9-1. Skene recorded five RBI on a home run and a double. In the circle, she pitched a complete game, giving up just three hits, one earned run, three walks and recorded nine strikeouts.

- Rochester Hills Lutheran Northwest competed in the Lady Crusader invitational today. Northwest won game one 8-4. Rebecca Oleski went 2-for-3 with one double, run scored, and one RBI. Madison Macy went 2-for-4 with two RBI. Macy was the winning pitcher striking out 10. In the championship game, Northwest topped Waterford Our Lady of the Lakes 3-1. Allie Magiera had one hit, one RBI, and one walk. Madison Macy went 2-for-2 with one RBI. Macy was the winning pitcher with 14 strikeouts. (11-5)

- Oxford played in a tournament and in the first game fell to Novi 6-5. Hannah Vachon took the loss in the circle with five strikeouts and three earned runs. Offensively, Vachon went 2-for-4. Chloe Allen went 1-for-2. Logan Medel went 1-for-4 with an RBI. Lauren Donaldson went 1-for-3 with two RBI. McKenzie Miller went 1-for-4 and Kaitlyn Bean went 3-for-4 with two RBI. In the second game, South Lyon East defeated Oxford 6-4. Bean took the loss in the circle with four strikeouts. Mendel went 1-for-4. Donaldson went 1-for-4 with an RBI. Bean went 1-for-4. Vachon went 2-for-3. Nicole Kessler went 1-for-3 and Alex Brown went 1-for-2 with an RBI. In the third game, Oxford defeated Birmingham Groves 15-0. Offensively, she recorded four hits, including a pair of home runs, with three runs scored and seven RBI. Grace Gilson went 3-for-4, with a double, four runs scored and five RBI. Maranda Sailor went 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and a walk. Megan Labiano and Tiara Francisco got on base three times scoring three runs apiece. Rachel Johnson had two hits and an RBI. In the second game, Lauren Dillon went 3-for-3 with two triples. Kellie Abeska went 3-for-4 with two triples.



Girls Soccer

- Ortonville Brandon competed in tournament action in Goodrich and went undefeated to win the Martian Cup. In the tournament opener, Brandon exploded with a 13-0 victory over Caro. Hannah Lapanowski had three goals and one assist. Sarah Buda scored three goals. Randi Jannette had two goals and three assists. Sarah Abbott added a goal and two assists. Allie Keller had a goal and three assists. Ashley Puleo added a goal and an assist. Elayna St Amour scored a goal. Logan Owen recorded the shutout. In the second game, Brandon defeated Richmond 4-0. Sarah Buda scored three goals and had an assist. Hannah Lapanowski had two assists. St. Amour added a goal and Sydney Hickmott grabbed an assist. Logan Owen recorded the shutout in goal. Colleen Dwyer, Marisa Bone, Elayna St Amour and Randi Jannette played very strong to limit Richmond to one shot on goal. In the championship game, Brandon defeated Holly 1-0. Buda scored the lone goal. Sydney Hickmott had an assist. Logan Owen made three saves to record the shutout as Brandon wins the Martian Cup. Buda scored the lone goal. Hickmott had an assist. - Holly competed in tournament action in Goodrich and finished 2-1 on the day. In the opener, Ashlee Long, Sami Hild and Payton Price scored a goal to defeat Goodrich 3-1. In the second game, Holly defeated Harbor Beach 3-0. Price scored two goals and Emma Ladd added a goal. Elle Bronson and Toni Morse anchored the defensive effort. In the championship game, Ortonville Brandon defeated Holly 1-0. Bronchos (8-7-0).

- North Farmington 4, Livonia Franklin 0 (From Friday) - Alexis Cohn scored two goals. Arti Vaishnav had two assists. Lynn Lerner, and Sam Randel added a goal while Carina Wright added an assist. Patil Tcholakian recorded her fifth shutout of the season for North Farmington (8-3).



Boys Track and Field

- Southfield Christian finished in 14th place with 14 points at the Mark Carpenter Invitational. Placers included: Elijah Hicks (8th); Josh Simms (12th) competed in the 100 Dash. Deshawn Moore (9th, 200 Dash). Rodger Johnson (6th, 400 Dash, 53.57). Max Vowles (11th, Mile, 4:58). Immanuel Smith (9th, 300 Hurdles, 48.11).



Girls Track and Field

- Southfield Christian finished in seventh place with 57 points at the Mark Carpenter Invitational. Placers included: Kaelin Ray (3rd, High Jump, 4-9; 4th, 100 Hurdles, 16.92; 2nd, 300 Hurdles 49.9). The 1600 Relay Team of (Shelby Goodson, Skylar Reynolds, and Chika Amene. Shelby Goodson) finished in third place. Amene (2nd, 400 Dash, 1:00.55; 2nd, 200 Dash, 26.5); The 3200 relay team of (Maurgan Lee, Grace Allan, Grace McFerrin and Holly Smith) placed sixth.
