The rally caps for Breckenridge could not produce magic for a second weekend in a row.

After a pair of comeback wins from steep deficits a weekend ago in their Division 4 district at Merrill, the Huskies found themselves in another hole Saturday in a regional semifinal matchup with Bay City All Saints.

A couple innings saw the two teams trade blows, but a stretch of five straight runs by the Cougars propelled them to a 9-4 victory over Breckenridge in the morning game. Bay City All Saints lost 7-6 to Portland St. Pat's in the regional championship game.

“My seniors gave it their all for us and they deserve plenty of praise,” Huskies head coach Sebastian San Miguel said. “We just wish we could have taken it a little bit farther, just like anybody else.”

Breckenridge was tied with the Cougars at 3-3 early before giving up two runs in the third and BCAS added on to its advantage in the ensuing innings.

“They came from behind in both games last week so I'm sure they thought they could do it again,” San Miguel added. “We just got ourselves in too big of a hole against a good team. It's hard to swallow.”

Brad Siler paced the Huskies as he had two hits including double. Caden Foster, Gracen Garcia, Kenyon Story and Noah Bleiler contributed one hit apiece.

Breckenridge finishes the season with a 22-7 record.
