Aggies outscore opponents 34-0, toss two no-hitters en route to district title

EVART The Beal City baseball program ran its winning streak to 17 games and counting Saturday as it wrapped up a Division 4 district title at Evart High School.

The Aggies (24-9) lambasted Big Rapids Crossroads 19-0 in four innings in the opener before crushing the hosts 15-0 in three innings in game two.

In all the Aggies outscored both opponents 34-0 and didn't allow a single hit. Keegon Haynes won the opener as he faced the minimum 12 batters and struck out six in the no-hitter. Beal City did commit one error in the opener.

Ryan Schafer had three hits, including a double, while Landon Schafer doubled and had two hits. Colby Berryhill also had three hits while Brett Upton had two.

In game two Upton didn't allow a hit while striking out four and hitting one batter.

Upton, Kyle Yuncker, Nate Wilson and Nate Horsley each had two hits in the nightcap

The Aggies host regionals next weekend and will play Brethren.
