The Ithaca High School boys golf team won its own tournament at The Fields in Ithaca Friday as it carded a 331.

Frankenmuth was second with a 346 while Fulton was third with a 348.

Ithaca’s Alex Vanderploeg tied for first with Fulton’s Jarrett Coblentz as both shot 78s.

Ithaca’s John Derry was third with an 81 with Kaeden Greer fifth with an 84. Jordan Bosley and Kyle Greer also tied for ninth with 89s.

Chippewa Hills wins Al Patterson Memorial Invite

Chippewa Hills High won the 11-team Al Patterson Memorial Golf Tournament Friday afternoon at Eagle Glen Golf Course in Farwell.

The Warriors won with a 156 followed by Farwell at 159 and Mt. Pleasant Sacred Heart 161. Clare was seventh with a 189.

The unique format had two-man teams from each school playing alternate shot on the front nine and scramble on the back.

The top three duos on each nine medaled.

For Chippewa Hills, James Wilson and Robert Burnell were third on both nines with 40 and 36 while Farwell's Mitch Nordstrom and Josh McCurry won the scramble with 32 and was second in alternate shot with 40. Nic Hillman-Michael Todd added an 80 for Chippewa Hills and Logan Douglas-Jordan Rieger an 87 for Farwell.

Leading the way for Sacred Heart was Kyle Pronick and Sam Kindermann with a 36 for second in the scramble. Tops for the Irish overall were Ayush Mohan and K.C. Ervin with 80 with Pronick-Kindermann at 81.
