The St. Louis High School girls basketball team continued its undefeated start to the season with a 50-32 win at Carrollton Thursday night.

The Sharks (5-0, 3-0 TVC-West) led 20-13 at the break, but pulled away from Cavaliers with a 21-10 third-quarter spurt.

Michaela Austin paced St. Louis with 13 points, while Bri Alspaugh posted nine points and 10 rebounds. Amanda Corder also chipped in with nine points.

Clare 75, Harrison 17

The Clare girls basketball team ran past rival Harrison Thursday night for a 75-17 win.

The Pioneers (5-1, 4-0 JPC) took a 25-4 lead after the opening quarter and held a 49-6 lead at the break.

Lindsay Winter led all scorers with 25 points, 10 steals and four assists, while Mackenzie Thayer tallied 12 points. Corinne Wezensky also collected 10 points and five boards, while Alex Stark totaled five points, five rebounds and seven steals.

Morgan English also had five points for Clare.

Bay City Central 49, Mt. Pleasant 37

BAY CITY – Mt. Pleasant’s girls basketball team fell to host Bay City Central 49-37 on Thursday evening.

The Oilers were paced by Katelyn Hartman as she had 22 points, 11 rebounds and two assists.

Jess Maxon added in six points while Whitnee Foote had four points and five rebounds.

Lakeview 44, Chippewa Hills 29

LAKEVIEW – The Chippewa Hills girls basketball team dropped its first game of the season Thursday as it lost on the road at Lakeview 44-29.

The game was tight, within five points, in the fourth quarter before the hosts put it out of reach.

Kendall Boone led the Warriors (4-1, 3-1) with nine points and seven rebounds while Hannah Guy had seven points. Olivia Wolfe also had six points and four steals.

Valley Lutheran 53, Ithaca 48

Saginaw Valley Lutheran topped Ithaca 53-48 on Thursday night.

The Yellowjackets were paced by Lacie Mates who had 10 points and 12 rebounds while Liz Bentley had nine points and eight caroms.

Kyle Chaffin added in six point, 10 rebounds and four assists while Mikayla Barrows had nine points. Brooklyn Dolloff also had six points with Renae Niznak adding in eight boards and four points.

Beaverton 70, Farwell 33

The Farwell girls basketball team fell in Jack Pine Conference action Thursday, losing to Beaverton 70-33.

The Eagles (3-2, 2-2) fell behind 28-15 in the opening half and didn’t get back into the game in the final half.

Kate Saupe had 11 points and four rebounds while Jenna McKinley had six points and Selena DeLeon five.

Caron White and Nina Buccilli also had five rebounds apiece.
