PREP HOCKEY: Mt. Pleasant secures second victory of season as it doubles up Tri-Valley

The Mt. Pleasant High School hockey team earned a 4-2 win at I.C.E. Arena Wednesday night as it defeated Tri-Valley.

After falling behind 1-0 at the 9:47 mark of the first period, the Oilers (2-6-2) evened the game just 24 seconds later as Robert Backus put one in unassisted.

Less than a minute later, Alex Dickinson scored on an assist from Kaleb Ramon to give the hosts a 2-1 advantage.

Tri-Valley scored late in the first period to tie it once again, but Mt. Pleasant answered with 4:43 left in the second period on Dickinson's second goal which came on a slap shot as the Oilers were on the power play. Collin Lambert and Kaleb Ramon assisted on the tally.

Backus added his second goal of the game with 0.2 seconds left on an empty netter from outside the blue line.
