PREP BOYS BASKETBALL: Beal City's Ryan Tilmann hits late 3-pointer to send Aggies to win over McBain

The Beal City boys varsity basketball team won in exciting fashion Tuesday, when Ryan Tillman sank a 3-pointer shot in the closing seconds to beat McBain High School by a final score of 60-59.

Tillman led the way for the Aggies (1-1 overall, 1-0 Highland Conference) all night as he finished the game with 15 points, six rebounds, three assists, one steal, and one block to go along with the game-winner. Zach Natzel had 13 points and six rebounds while Ty Rollin added 11 points.



Ithaca 54, St. Louis 27

The Ithaca High School boys basketball team doubled up visiting St. Louis Tuesday night by a final of 54-27.

Ithaca (3-0, 1-0 TVC West) ran out to a 10-2 lead through one quarter and outscored the Sharks in every quarter en route to the win.

Logan Hessbrook led the Yellowjackets with 11 points, while Travis Smith scored 10. Josh Hafner and Eli Villalobos both had eight points.

Dakota Latoski paced St. Louis with six points.



Carson City-Crystal 48, Durand 47, final

Grant Gage hit two free throws with 6.4 seconds left Tuesday night to put Carson City-Crystal ahead for good as it edged host Durand 48-47.

Rhett Pringle led the Eagles with 21 points, while Gage finished with eight.



Hemlock 60, Shepherd 36

Hemlock defeated the Shepherd boys basketball team at Shepherd in a Tri-Valley Central matchup on Tuesday 60-36.

For Shepherd (0-3, 0-1), Mason Branigan led with 10 points, Jesse Holmes had nine.

Hemlock’s Brad Sleischman was the game’s high scorer with 18 points, Ethan Apsey followed with 17.



Chippewa Hills 58, White Cloud 41

WHITE CLOUD - The Chippewa Hills varsity boys basketball team went on the road Tuesday night, where it beat conference rival White Cloud High School by a final score of 58-41.

Leading the way for Chippewa Hills (1-2 overall, 1-1 CSAA) were Hunter Conley and Mike Todd, each of whom finished with 15 points.



Freeland 51, Alma 35

FREELAND - The Alma boys basketball team lost at Freeland on Tuesday 51-35.

Justin Doyle and Dylan Carl Both had 10 points for Alma (0-3, 0-1 TVC Central) in the effort.



Breckenridge 58, Merrill 32

The Breckenridge boys basketball team opened Tri-Valley Conference West play with 58-32 win over visiting Merrill Tuesday.

The Huskies (1-2, 1-0 TVC West) took a 24-17 lead into the locker room and were led by Keegan Giles with 23 points.

Jordan Lumsden also tallied 17 points, while Wade SanMiguel contributed 10.



Fulton 74, Saranac 45

Fulton collected a 74-45 win over visiting Saranac Tuesday to open Central Michigan Athletic Conference action.

Dalton Trefil led the Pirates (3-0, 1-0 CMAC) with 18 points, while Colton Antes chipped in 17.

Gregg Jones contributed eight points and six assists, and Nathan David registered seven points, seven assists and six rebounds.
