PREP BOYS SOCCER: Mt. Pleasant concludes season with loss

AUBURN — The Mt. Pleasant High School boys soccer team had its season come to a close Wednesday evening in its Division 2 district semifinal game at Bay City Western, falling by a 4-0 final.

Bay City Western broke a scoreless tie late in the first half, then tacked on three more goals in the second half to put it away.

“We are a little disappointed at the result,” said Oilers coach John Bunting. “We were actually controlling most of the action in the first half and then their goal really took the wind out of our sails going into the second half. Overall, we finished this season very well by winning eight of our last 10 games so I’m definitely proud of that.”

Zac Brown made four saves for Mt. Pleasant (11-8-3).
