Lutheran North climbed from 11th after one day, at the state finals at Bedford Valley Golf Course in Battle Creek, to finish seventh overall after day two.

The Mustangs fired a 372, which was their lowest one-day round at a state final in school history, to finish with a two-day total of 776.

The squad was led by Miranda Weatherly (97-89/186), Katie Humphrey (98-91/189), Kelly Murdock (100-93/193) and Sydney Martens (109-99/208).

Lutheran North lost three seniors off a squad that placed fifth in the state a year ago.

Grosse Ile (716) won the tournament, followed by Grand Rapids NorthPointe Christian (718) and Flint Powers Catholic (722).


L’Anse Creuse North’s Megan Sarotte improved on her first-day round at the Division 1 finals at Forest Akers West Golf Course on the campus of Michigan State University, firing a 95 to finish with a 203.

Lakeview’s Kelly Woods also had a better second day at the Division 1 finals at Forest Akers East. Woods carded a 95 to finish with 197 over two days.

Regina (792) paced ninth at the D3 finals, played at The Meadows on the campus of Grand Valley State University.

The Saddlelites were led over the two days by Kendall Graves (90-89/179), Sydney Rusu ( 105-94/199), Lucy Cornwell (103-101/204), Lauren Vance (108-106/214) and Mia Minoletti (118-102/220).
