VOLLEYBALL: Eisenhower splits four matches at Beast of the East

Dakota falls to Lake Orion

BEAST OF THE EAST: Eisenhower (28-7 overall) went 2-2 on the day, falling to Marian (18-25, 28-26, 15-10) in the gold bracket quarterfinals.

The Eagles were led on the day by Taylor Stewart (34 attacks, 10 kills, 25 digs, 67 assists), Hailee Seifert (85 attacks, 23 kills, 13 digs, three aces), Kori Fletemier (63 attacks, 18 kills, seven digs), Victoria Genna (49 attacks, 13 kills, three blocks, four digs) and Emily Rizzi (19 attacks, kill, 45 digs).

In pool play, Eisenhower beat Croswell-Lexington (27-25, 20-25, 15-8) and Troy (25-20, 26-28, 15-11) and fell to Portage Central (25-20, 25-14).

Also, top-ranked Dakota fell in the tournament to Lake Orion. It was the returning state champs first loss of the season.

MOUNT MORRIS: L'Anse Creuse North (24-8-4 overall) lost in the semifinals to Notre Dame Prep. After finishing second in pool play, the Crusaders beat Port Huron Northern (23-25, 25-19, 15-11) in the quarter finals.

LCN was led on the day by Jenna Helsing (28 kills, 53 digs), Danielle Sargent (16 kills, 63 digs), Kaileen Bauer (nine kills, 46 digs), Allison Parski (76 digs), Amanda Falkenhagen (82 assists), Lindsey Sutter (23 kills) and Abrina Meatte (eight aces).
