L’ANSE CREUSE NORTH 2, GROSSE POINTE NORTH 0: Nathan Peters and Ronaldo Lika scored a goal each, and Nathan Feathers assisted on both goals, to lead L’Anse Creuse North. Jake Wismont, Matt Maliskey and Brody Nichols played well for the Crusaders, coach Elmir Sabanovic said. Jake Belprez made four saves for the shutout.


UTICA 2, LAKEVIEW 0: Matt Wilkie and Paul Conway both scored and Tonin Perkaj and Austin Perry had assists to lead the Chieftains.

Utica (8-1-1) takes on Chippewa Valley on Monday.


DE LA SALLE 1, ROCHESTER ADAMS 0: Mother Nature wasn’t the only one who kept the host Highlanders down Thursday. So did an outstanding effort by the Pilots’ back line.

Those defenders were Joey Lopiccolo, Brandon Piwinski, Collin Kaltz, and Christopher Ruebelman.

The game was called due to inclement weather at the conclusion of the first half. De La Salle’s Avery Eckert, a senior forward, got the game’s only goal with about 10 minutes to play in the half.

Goalie Jake Townsley got the shutout as the Pilots improved to 9-1-1.

On Wednesday, De La Salle dispatched University of Detroit Jesuit 1-0 in a Catholic League contest. Senior forward Tyler Garrison got the goal. Earning the assist was JackRyan Williams, who played a great game, said assistant coach Karl Brunsman.

On Thursday, Sept. 19, the Pilots host rival Birmingham Brother Rice at 5:30 p.m. at the Macomb Community College field.


LUTHERAN NORTH 1, NOTRE DAME PREP 0: Junior Noah Lesnau scored the lone goal with 15 minutes left in the game with an assist from Fernando Teruel. The Mustangs were led by an all around team effort on both offense and defense.

Lutheran North (4-2-2) takes on Dakota Friday.


MEMPHIS 1, MARLETTE 0: Raising Kain is all that needed to be done en route to this win as Memphis’ Brad Kain scored the game’s only goal. Steven Krause assisted on that score.

Memphis goalie Harrison Krause made seven saves. The Yellowjackets travel to Harbor Beach Friday.
