BOWLING: Richmond girls, Armada boys win regional championships

Richmond won the girls championship at the Division 3 regional bowling tournament at Cherry Hill Lanes.

The Blue Devils amassed a team score of 3609.

Corunna and Croswell-Lexington finished second and third, respectively, and also advanced to the state finals.

Junior Noelle Scheuer of Richmond won the girls singles championship with a pinfall of 1202. It was Scheuer's third consecutive regional title.

Junior Heather Bruci, who finished second with 1158, and Payton Dickson, who was ninth with 1051, also will represent Richmond in the state finals.

Laurynn Ball of Armada finished third with 1101. Dana Ulinski of Armada (1058) and Merissa Stevens of Armada (1052) also qualified for the state finals.

In the boys tournament, Armada won the team championship with 3840.

Caro and Cros-Lex finished second and third, respectively.

In singles competition, Richmond's Marc LaGrois was second with 1180.

The Blue Devils' Jacob Folske tied with Capac's Vincent Potyczka for fourth place with 1180.

Andrew Doering of Armada qualified for the state finals. He had a pinfall of 1095.
