BOWLING: Roseville boys win regional championship

Warren-Mott's Mike Churchill among singles qualifiers

Roseville is a boys regional bowling champion.

The Panthers rolled up a team score of 3975 to win the Division 1 regional tournament at Woodhaven Lanes in Woodhaven.

Roseville posted a high Baker game score of 217, and then had a high regular-game score of 1049 en route to the championship.

Warren-Mott fell seven pins shy of finishing third and qualifying for the state finals.

The Marauders had a total pinfall of 3728.

Third-place Westland John Glenn had 3724.

Runner-up Wyandotte Roosevelt had 3816.

In the singles tournament, Mike Churchill of Warren-Mott fiinished third with a total score of 1210. Churchill had a high game of 246.

Matt Minaudo (seventh) of De La Salle, Sean Uhl (eighth) of Roseville and Jeremy Miller (ninth) of Roseville also finished in the top 10 and advanced to the state finals.

Minaudo had a high game of 244 and a total of 1165.

Uhl rolled a 243 en route to a total of 1154, and Miller had a 256 game that contributed to a total of 1150.

In the girls singles tournament, Alyssa Komlenovich (sixth) of East Detroit and Madison Paoletti (10th) of Cousino were state finals qualifiers.

Komlenovich had a 197 game and a total of 1062.

Paoletti rolled a 201 game en route to a 1029 total.

The state finals will be at Northway Lanes in Muskegon next weekend.
