ROUNDUP: Stevenson tosses a shutout against Cousino

Anchor Bay slips past L'Anse Creuse North


STEVENSON 16, COUSINO 0: It was an opener ….and shut case for the winning Titans (1-0).

Winning pitcher Amber Huntley threw all three innings. She allowed just two hits and fanned three. She also went 3-for-3 with a double and had four RBI.

Shannon Carr had three hits, scored four runs, and had four RBI. Bri Platz’s three hits included a double. She knocked in three runs. Dana Vitale went 3-for-4 with two RBI.

The Titans welcome Anchor Bay Wednesday, and play a home doubleheader against Troy Thursday.

ANCHOR BAY 6, L’ANSE CREUSE NORTH 4: Jenna Casey and winning pitcher Skye Norris had two hits apiece and Elizabeth Townsend drove in two runs to lead Anchor Bay in its season opener. Norris struck out five. L’Anse Creuse North’s Piper Roth doubled and drove in two runs.


EISENHOWER 9-11, STONEY CREEK 3-1: The last name is appropriate. Aspen Starr certainly starred offensively for the Eagles (2-0).

She had three hits with a double in the first game, and two more hits in the second game.

Pitcher Kiersten Korber got the win in the opener. She fanned seven. She also doubled. Malynn Kosnik had two hits. Sarah Wojcik doubled and belted a grand slam home run in the sixth inning. Marissa Cilluffo went 3-for-4 and Olivia Gulyas had two hits.

Cilluffo pitched her way to the win in the second game. She also went 3-for-4. Breannia Swicki went 4-for-4. Maddie Zweng had two hits, as did Gulyas, Kosnik and Wojcik. Katie Bologna and Sam Scott each had hits.

Coach Bob Hall’s squad welcomes Marian Wednesday.

ROYAL OAK 12, FITZGERALD 0: Kalle Lay fanned two in a loss for the Spartans (0-3).

MARYSVILLE 14-15, YALE 4-5: Lauryn Hulet hit a home run and had three RBI and Katie Lewandowski and Smyantha Hollandsworth drove in two runs apiece as Marysville won the second game to complete the sweep. Winning pitcher Lydia Sawdon struck out three. In the first game, winning pitcher Paige Ameel struck out nine and Hulett hit two home runs. Jessica Wilson and Ashlee Will had three hits apiece. Marysville is 2-0.

REGINA 13, GROSSE POINTE NORTH 6: Katie Bieszke drove in three runs on five hits for the Saddlelites (1-0). Marisa Muglia also plated three runs on three hits and Nina Szalkiewicz (RBI) finished with four hits. Maddie Simon gave up five hits for the win.


LUTHERAN NORTH 10-13, OUR DAY OF LAKES 9-9: In the opener, Emily Provencher homered, tripled and singled to drive in four for the Mustangs (2-0). Jeanette Ebel had a pair of doubles and scored the winning run, while Grace Yeoman and Kaity Rittner had two hits each. Jordan Flemming was the winning pitcher.

In game two, Yeoman (three RBI) and Madison Smith (two RBI) had three hits apiece, while Ebel and Angela Carnagh each had two hits. Julia Schwark got the win.
