FITZGERALD 75, L’ANSE CREUSE 69 (2 OT): Mandatory overtime, and the extra time paid off for coach Joe Kopicki’s Spartans.

“The kids played super hard tonight,” said Kopicki.

Senior guard Bryan Gordon finished with 33 points. He played every second of the double overtime contest.

“Bryan was our leader on defense, too,” said his coach.

Junior guard Carl Pettway finished with 19 points for Fitzgerald (2-3, 5-4).

“It was a phenomenal effort by everyone on the team,” said Kopicki.

His team welcomes Anchor Bay in a makeup game Wednesday.


ROMEO 49, ROSEVILLE 44: Blake McRae scored 15 and Andre Pantalena added 12 points for the Bulldogs (3-3, 4-7).

Roseville was led by Martell Turner’s 15 points

Romeo plays at Grosse Pointe North Thursday.

GROSSE POINTE NORTH 62, UTICA 46: Steven Levick and Dillion Webb each tossed in 14 points to lead the Norsemen (5-1, 7-4). Sam Cross followed with 13 points.

Omaure Miller had 11 points for the Chieftains.


NEW HAVEN 73, ANCHOR BAY 35: Appropriately enough, the Rockets (6-0 MAC Blue, 10-1) had some royal performances in this game played at The Palace Monday afternoon.

Romeo Weems finished with 15 points, 12 rebounds, five assists, four blocks and three steals. Eric Williams Jr. had 13 points, seven rebounds, three assists and three steals. Ashton Sherrell wound up with eight points , nine rebounds and three blocks.

Anchor Bay’s Rashad Hussain finished with 12 points.

On Friday, New Haven plays at Fitzgerald.


RICHMOND 72, PECK 44: Anthony Tavano (three assists, three steals) led the Blue Devils with 20 points, while Chase Churchill (seven rebounds, three steals) added 15 and D’Sean Hamilton (12 rebounds, eight steals, four assists) chipped in 13. Jackson Allen (four assists) followed with 11 points.
